Random Prospect Lists Start Rolling In

Baseball digest daily did a ranking of the top 100 prospects, and as can be expected, the Dodgers did quite well, getting in six in the top 100:

#15 Andy LaRoche
#23 Scott Elbert
#28 Clayton Kershaw
#29 James Loney
#79 Blake DeWitt
#90 Travis Denker

Speaking of prospects, there's still plenty of time to vote for the top 30 Dodgers prospects, so go ahead and cast your votes.

Denker
Denker shouldn't be on a Top 500 prospects list.  Saying that doesn't make one anti-Dodgers; rather, it's evidence that one isn't a deluded homer.

Exactly
Denker's lost a lot of luster over the past year. I still like him, but he doesn't deserve to be a top 100 prospect. If that were someone like Greg Miller or Jonathan Meloan, I'd have no problem.

Denker
if you look at how the list was compiled, it combined the rankings from lists put together by 4 or 5 different guys. all but one of them didn't have Denker on their list, but one guy had him at 39 (!), hence it averaged out somehow to the 90th overall ranking.

perhaps he confused 39th in the Dodgers system with 39th in all of baseball? i exaggerate, obviously....

Normandin
Andrew (LA): What wins out: The Dodger's farm system or Ned Colletti's inability to evaluate talent?
Marc Normandin: Depends on who leaves first, Logan White or Ned Colletti. As long as White is there, they should have the draft picks to trade for talent, but Colletti is going to have to bring in more of a haul than he has thus far in order to make the system more effective.

Thanks for stopping by Andrew. Andrew blogs at True Blue LA, where Ned Colletti's ineptness is brought up more often than Dodgers' fans probably like to see. Such is life.

The negative points about Colletti's inability to evaluate talent are ridiculous. WHat have the Giants done since Colletti left SF? Crap. He has retained LA's most prized prospects and made the 25 roster stronger than last year with his free agent signings. Couple that with another year under their belts for Martin, Loney, Ethier, Broxton, Saito....and you have a division winner.
