Repko chat

The Dodgers' MLB.com site has put up a chat with Jason Repko.  Nice stuff -- mostly fluffy, but he gives a nice peek into the rookie/non-star point of view.  Seems like a well grounded guy.

I've become a big Repko fan, but .... how much of a future does he really have?  I'm seeing him as a fourth-outfielder-for-life type.  Although I guess one could argue he deserves a shot at more time in CF, considering how hot he was in April.

What do other folks think?  Do Repko's chances at starting get squashed once Jayson Werth comes back?

Re: is jayson werth...
Good point.  I was thinking he would be back in June/July, but that's only when he's eligible.  Meanwhile, he's telling reporters that he can't even hold a bat yet ... so, never mind about Werth.

He'll get plenty of chances...
...to play, and if he keeps this up, he'll get a chance to start somewhere. The liklihood of him contributing at this pace is remote, though. Nonetheless, I, too, am a fan. He makes it fun to watch the team, and he seems likable.

Repko's Werth
The sample size for Repko is small but not miniscule. I'm just guessing here, but I think he's got about 400 plate appearances in the bigs. Critically, in that time, he seems to have improved. He also grew rapidly in his last year as a full-time minor leaguer. My point is he might have considerable value if used right, maybe a  Reed Johnson type or something similar. He's an exciting player, so I'm rooting for him.
