Cool A Coo

Over at Dodger Thoughts a few days ago many of us were lamenting the loss of the "Cool A Coo" and some of the younger folks were asking what it was. I told my wife about the discussion and she said we failed to mention the most important part, that the ice cream had a cinnamon flavor to it, which made it unique from other chocolate covered ice cream sandwiches.

Now it just so happens that earlier in the week I had purchased a carton of Ben & Jerry's "Oatmeal Cookie Chunk" and finished it tonight. The description is "Sweet Cream Cinnamon Ice Cream with chunks of oatmeal cookies & fudge". She took a bite and said right away that is just about the flavor of the ice cream inside the Cool A Coo. She was right. So the Cool A Coo seems to have the following ingredients.

Cinnamon Ice Cream
Oatmeal Cookies
Chocolate Covered

Now I can rest easy because it was bugging me for days when I tried to explain what a Cool A Coo was and I knew I was not doing it justice.

Cool A Coo

When you refer to a Cool A Coo do you mean an "It's It". That's how I remember them. Those were the best at Dodger Stadium, it's been about 5 years since I've had one. Does anyone know where I can still purchase one. I would love to buy some in bulk.

They

used to sell them in bulk at Smart N Final but I no longer can find them there. The company filed chapter 11 but I don't know if they ceased to exist or survived the chapter 11.

I only knew them as Cool A Coo's but I've heard they are the same thing.
