Prospect Number Two
Here was the vote for number one
Now let's vote for number two.
Scott Elbert - Number one pick in 2004. Missed most of 2007 and came back in 2008 to work out of the bullpen. Showed up in the Dodger bullpen in Sept and had some bright moments. Hopefully his arm strength has returned and will be returned back to the rotation in 2009. If not, he will be a power arm in the bullpen and could a closer.
Ivan DeJesus - Number two pick in 2005. With Carlos Santana gone I don't think anyone increased their stock more then DeJesus. He added a modicum of power to go along with his excellent plate discipline. Played a lot of 2nd after making the Futures All-Star game.
Andrew Lambo - Number 4 pick in 2007. The high flying Lambo jumped High A and then wrecked havoc upon AA in limited at bats. I think he's flying under the radar for non Dodger fans. High School 1st baseman has made the leap to RF but if Loney doesn't produce he could be the future 1st baseman.

I like DeJesus here.
Since Lambo is either going to be a 1st or Corner outfielder I want to see how the power develops. BA had him ranked as the 7th best MWL prospect. McDonald was only 14th and DeJesus 15th in the Southern league. The Southern League was loaded with top prospects.
It is amazing how fast how prospects have dropped when the 14th ranked prospect in the Southern league is our top prospect. That is a result of so many players being promoted so that is the sliver lining. Would Carlos Santana have been our top prospect after getting the 2nd ranking in the Cal League and Law and others jumping on his bandwagon. When was the last time a number one prospect was traded who hadn’t yet played in the major leagues for us? I remember Diggins being dealt for Tyler Houston in 2002 so I think that is my answer.

If Lambo had more votes for best prospect, how does he have less votes for 2nd best prospect? If you thought he should have been the best prospect, shouldn’t you also think that with McDonald voted Top Prospect, that he’s better than the other 2 remaining and should therefore be the 2nd best prospect? Are people thinking instead “Well, I think Lambo is the best followed by DeJesus. Even though Lambo didn’t win the first vote, I’m voting for DeJesus because he actually is, IMO, the 2nd best prospect.”?

Re:
Just like me, they voted for McDonald as the best prospect and are now voting for DeJesus as the 2nd best. Lambo only had 14 votes for best prospect and now has 24 for 2nd best.
