We expected Billingsley to be good, we expected Kershaw to be a phenom, we expected Kuroda to at least be average but what was the biggest surprise of the season.

Other

I voted “other,” because I never in a million years thought I’d see Manny Ramirez in Dodger Blue.

Other

I voted other as well. Manny has got to be the biggest surprise of ‘08. Of course he won’t win though because its not on the poll.

Mannywood!!!!

I’ve modified the poll. Sorry to see your Other vote get wasted.

Jones By a Gut Over Nomar

Nomar playing SS for a reasonably extended period of time (29 starts) without exploding to dust was shocking to me, but even the most negative about the Andruw Jones’ signing couldn’t have foreseen such a disastrous year.

Corey Wade

I had to pick C Wade. Seriously, who had that guy on their radar prior to 2008, and who honestly believed that he could be so effective in the pen for the Dodgers this season?

Paul Lo Duca is MLB's Pablo Escobar..

Wade didn't surprise me

I remember looking at his stats in the minors and saying “hey, we have a minor league pitcher that doesn’t have control problems.” 100 K, 28 BB and 8 HR in 99 IP in 2007, not too shabby.
