Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Continues Rampage, New York Wins On Road

Small Sample Size Heroes

After last night's 4 for 4 performance, Rafael Furcal is now your 2008 VORP leader. Not only is Furcal leading, he's dominating the competition with a 3.1 run lead on second place Derrek Lee. I see no reason why he can't continue this for the whole year.

Community Update - I've added my first official rule to commenting: Andruw Jones is fat jokes are banned, unless it's actually a unique take on the idea. Mentioning buffets or him eating someone or something does not count as unique.

Yeah, but. . .

where do you stand on the pronunciation of Kuo?! That’s the real issue. I don’t want to hear any of the Furcal business until you address THE BURNING QUESTION!

I’m sticking with the “I know my own name” camp.

Why are all your time stamps in EDT? Are you ashamed of where you come from?

I don't think DT. . .

would benefit from one more nutcase, this afternoon, so I’m farming it out. Hope that’s alright.

by Andrew Shimmin on Apr 17, 2008 2:58 PM PDT up reply actions

I’m much more forgiving of nutcases here. Plus I can just boot anyone I don’t like. It’s great.

Ah, there it is. . .

I just had to adjust my own account settings. Alright, you’re off the hook for that one.

Good, because right now I don’t know the difference between something I can change, something that’s supposed to happen, and a bug.

Fat jokes about. . .

Andruw Jones’s momma are still okay, though, right?

I’ll allow it.

Bad Idea

Clicking this link is also a bad idea. It’s not unsafe for work, in the classical sense, but you can’t unsee this, once you’ve seen it. So, be advised.

No Youtube at work, sadly.

If YouTube had tags, for their videos. . .

This one would be tagged “Wrigley Field,” “Urinal Trough,” and “Slip And Slide.”

Don’t think I’ll be checking that one out when I get home.

I didn’t click on that link, but I’m sure I’ve seen that video from that description. It’s only a little less gross than one might imagine from its description. Or more. I just know it was gross.

Actually,

My name’s Andrew too … but I thought I’d go with something more generic.

(not that “Andrew” isn’t generic enough)

I can't decide whats worse..

The nomar love fest every time he does so much as grab his jock in the batters box, or the fact that we’re still booing Andruw so loudly. Why are we not being more appreciative and attentive of what guys like Lone star and Raffy are doing right now!

O.A.

“I see no reason why he can’t continue this for the whole year”

Um, he’s BABIPing .458 …

by D4P on Apr 17, 2008 6:26 PM PDT reply actions

So my prediction that he’ll be 25% better than anyone else in baseball won’t come true?

Wow, I just learned I can see what you guys do on any other SBN site from here, and I can preemptively ban idiots.

This is a great day.

You’re welcome.

I flagged Andrew Shimmin as a troll because more than one Andrew confuses me and makes me angry. And when I get angry, I smash things.

doesn’t understand sarcasm? I thought that was the language of grumpy cynics?
