Sometimes I wish I didn't have to write anything here. It's a gamethread, it can be used to discuss the game.

With
great power comes great responsibility. Little did I know when I first read that 42 years ago that it would be the catch phrase of the 21st century. Go Marvel

Who
would you rather have over the next 4 years, Josh Hamilton or Matt Kemp?

Kemp, because there’s a huge risk of Hamilton having some kind of incident.

Ditto. Hamilton himself said that the urge to use again is always going to be there, and it’s something you want to avoid if you can.

Kemp, hands down. His upside is tremendous. Once his psyche catches up with his talent, he will be a superstar. He needs a good veteran to mentor him(not Androuch Jones) and he will bust out.
Hard work trumps talent. Persistence trumps inspiration. Humility trumps ego.

Matt
His natural athleticism is just unreal, I really think he’ll put it all together.
I can’t believe loney hit into a double there, thats what thing i was hoping i could count on James not to do, eh at least Kuo looked decent in that second inning
lets hope he can jack another homer and give us a famous bat toss lol!

Re:
I don’t think anyone in baseball is more athletic then Josh Hamilton.

I’d agree with that. Not many hardcore drug users are going to be able to make it into the big leagues after they get clean and lose years of development time unless they’re immensely talented.

True maybe I just haven't
seen enough of him still to really make the call, I’m just trying to stay positive on matt right now, and hope that his potential is reached

FYI
BP posted this on their future pack yesterday.
“SS, Double-A Jacksonville (Dodgers)
While he’s nothing close to Davis as a hitter, DeJesus’ line of .287/.371/.381 last year was also seen by many as a function of the Cal League, with the worry that he really wasn’t much more than an excellent glove man with limited offensive skills. The son of Ivan DeJesus is looking to change that reputation at Double-A. With two-hit games on Friday and Saturday and a grand slam on Sunday, DeJesus is batting a highly impressive .328/.446/.459 with more walks (12) than strikeouts (10) in 61 at-bats. More impressive still is that he doesn’t turn 21 for ten more days. It’s hard to figure out where he fits into the Dodgers’ plans at the big league level at this point, but he’s well on his way to giving the brass something to think about.”

Hey man!
Don’t mess with DeJesus!

Well, I thought it was funny. Any Big Lebowski fans here?

Kuo
is my favorite Dodger at the moment. He really let me down last year so I’ve been cautious in my enthusiasm this year.
I said early in the year I hoped he’d be given a shot at the 5th starter job. That has happened now he needs to grab it and not hurt his arm while he’s holding onto it.

Lets go fellas
I really won’t be pleased with a 1-4 roadie…its really frustrating as hell when you score so many runs one night, then just throw out bagels inning after inning the next night…

Scott Proctor is so bad. He was bad last year, and he’s bad this year.

I dunno
I like Proctor for the most part, his numbers now are a bit over inflated… I really believe this is a very good team thats just not putting it together.
Its baffling and infuriating, theres a lot of talent and a really good blend of vets and young guys. At least i thought…call me naive but i had high hopes when this season kicked off, and I’m not gonna give up on any of these guys just yet. But seriously, I don’t know whats wrong, but we just can’t play consistently as a TEAM.

true
but I think our flawed guys stack up pretty well with the rest of the league

I hate it
when they do something I want them to and then the player can’t live up to my expectations. We really needed a big game from Kuo tonight.

"Living up to expectations"
should be a theme thats hounded into this tea. This is really not a realistic way of thinking or going to help at all, but If everyone, or even 2/3 of this team was playing the way we know they can, we’d be a favorite to win the pennant.
Thats why its so frustrating to be a dodger fan right now.
