It’s a good thing he is on the Rockies.

Here's a Question
Given the perfect lineup for the Dodgers, (Furcal, Jones, Kemp, Ethier, Martin, LaRoche, Kent, Loney), what do you guys think the batting order should be?
I Think I Would Go With
Furcal
LaRoche
Kemp
Kent
Jones
Martin
Loney
Ethier

Loney
Martin
Kent
Kemp
Jones
LaRoche
Ethier
Furcal
I know that this will never happen.

I assume you think Furcal’s .350 OBP is too low for the leadoff spot?

Yep. Best on base guys on top, then go power, then speed at the bottom.

BTW, is there a reason you like speed at the bottom?

Do you think that the players choose songs based on their names (Forgot About Dre, Hero, Panama) or is it pressed on them?

I think players usually get to pick. I remember reading something on ESPN’s Page2 about it.
However, I also know they used to play “Dream Weaver” whenever Weaver pitched, not sure when they played it, but I know he didn’t want them to and hated it.

Not sure when they played when he was batting or coming out to pitch, I mean.

Are you a big A’s fan? I just noticed your avatar was the A’s elephant.

I’d say they’re my AL team, too. I liked the Twins a lot since I was a youngster when they won the series in ‘91, but now the only team I like to watch is the A’s. Even those crap teams in the mid-90’s I enjoyed for some reason.

Just think about this whenever you worry about Bills’ control.

From Baseball Prospectus Chat With Jay Jaffe Today
dblatnik (Sunnyvale, CA): How do you like Chad Billingsley’s luck so far this year—13.94 K/9 and a 9.1 LD% with a .449 BABIP? Also, when do you see the Dodgers calling up Clayton Kershaw?
Jay Jaffe: That’s a very weird line. I was listening to last night’s game while working on the Hit List; Billingsley had 12 Ks but allowed five runs in six innings.
I haven’t actually seen much of him this year, but that kind of line makes me wonder if he’s throwing too many strikes, trying to shoulder a bit too much of the load.

Strikes
Bills should throw as many as possible. He has the stuff to where he doesn’t have to nibble, right?

I didn’t comment on that thread the first time I read it, so I’ll pretend I never read it even though I probably did.
But I like that idea. You should send it to joetorre@dodgersbaseball.com

I can’t believe the Rockies aren’t warming anyone up.

Maybe their ‘pen has been overworked?

Why would you play “nobody walks in LA” when someone walks?

Oh come on
That’s a double?? That’s PODSEDNIK?? How is this happening?
Yep. But he sucks a lot more than Wells, IMO.

I’m wrong. He’s started 4 games and had one relief appearance. Not sure when that relief appearance was.

He had a couple good seasons when he first got to Pittsburgh. Not sure what happened to him.

How stupid
by management to think that Glassiapara was going to be able to play everyday. Bring up Andy or Dewitt now and play them everyday.
Winny blamed it on it being a long game
...but I cannot imagine Russel Martin would have made it to 2nd base much quicker on fresh legs.
VINNY (not Winny)
sorry for the typo, it is like the 12h inning at my desk too….
