It’s time for the Dodgers to get jiggy with it. That’s still cool, right? Awesome.

I think you’re only allowed to get Figgy wid it now.

I like hearing Vinny call players “big boys.”

Pierre must of just hit three shots in a row, because he’s on fire!

I’d like to see Ethier do that many little things.

You mean stealing a base or hitting a sac fly?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:32 PM PDT up reply actions

Let me ask you this. Is there a point for a fast runner to steal 3rd? Does the risk outweigh the gain? Because you only steal 3rd so you can score on a sac fly or groundout, usually. He’ll score on a hit anywhere.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:31 PM PDT reply actions

If there’s one out, it makes sense.

Maybe not against Mark Redman.

Although, I don’t mind that Pierre does it, since contrary to what the guy at Bucs Dugout says, Pierre is a good basestealer.

Jones Might Get An RBI Walk

I always loved getting those in little league.

And He Got It!

I like it. While Andruw might be pressing, he’s not swinging at bad pitches (at least in this AB). Redman didn’t give him anything to hit, so he didn’t swing at a bad pitch.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:39 PM PDT up reply actions

Do not like swinging at the first pitch after three walks.

by Andrew on Apr 26, 2008 7:40 PM PDT reply actions

Agreed. And according to Gameday, that pitch looked off the plate. But a single is a single.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:41 PM PDT up reply actions

Redman makes me wonder: Who’s the worst player ever to be named to the All-Star team? Mark Redman? Mike Williams? Scott Cooper?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:41 PM PDT reply actions

Someone from the Royals in the last 15 years?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Most of them.

I say this gives Kemp a job for at least a week. Nobody else is hitting homers on our team besides Kemp.

Redman’s ERA is now 9.14. It was 5.43 half an hour ago.

Maybe Hurdle is just going to concede the game, which he should, and let Redman pitch a few more innings. I feel sorry for Redman. This type of performance doesn’t help you stay on a team.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 7:55 PM PDT up reply actions

I have less sympathy for him since he should have lost his job several years ago.

Are you worried about Penny’s lower K rates? It seems he might be sacrificing K’s in order to pitch more effectively. I remember reading Oswalt said a few years ago that he was going to start pitching to contact more. And that’s worked for him so far.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 8:12 PM PDT reply actions

Very. He’s become more of a groundball pitcher, which is nice, but not enough of one to sustain effectiveness.

Sounds serious if the ambulance is coming out, and there’s a delay of game. Where did the ball hit him? How did it happen?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 26, 2008 8:22 PM PDT up reply actions

Martin just straight up missed the pitch and it got the ump in the neck just around his neck flap thing.

Steiner just said that Dan Evans is an agent for one of the Rockie’s players. When did that happen? Last I heard he was a special assistant to Ken Williams or something like that.
