Eighteen years ago today Verdell Hernandez Gurnee took my hand in marriage and I'm not sure what is the biggest surprise. That we survived 18 years or that the Dodgers have won exactly one playoff game in that time, and that we have Jose Lima, the most unlikely of heros to thank for that game. During our 18 years, that game is the game that probably stands out as the most fun I've had with my wife at a Dodger game.

It wouldn't have been the same if someone like Orel or Fernando had pitched the gem. The greatest part of the game was the complete surprise that someone like Jose Lima could pitch the greatest Dodger playoff game in the last 18 years.
