Game Chat 8: Arizona Diamondbacks
Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks, Apr 8, 2008 6:40 PM PDT
The Dodgers take on Doug Davis as he makes his last start before undergoing chemotherapy. I like Doug Davis for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, so I'm pulling for him tonight. Don't hate me.

He's Trying to Go Out On a High Note
Two K's in 2 batters. Matt Kemp needs to do something tonight, or he will be on the bench tomorrow.
Mine too.
I'm starting to respect Mark Reynolds.

That Was A Scouting Report I Read on Him.
Not just my personal opinion.

From what I've seen so far, it makes sense. I just hope he never gets patience.

The Only Person I've Seen Learn That
Off the top of my head is Jose Reyes.

I take it this is worse than it looks on Gamecast.

I Was Watching it on Gamecast.
I'm about to turn on the streaming radio.

Andruw Jones
Also killing my fantasy team. Vinny just said the D-Backs messed up an easy double play.
At least I'm stuck at work until I finish this project.
Wait...

I Figured You Were There
If you had Gamecast on.
Do they have 7-11's in Southern California? I would assume they do, but if they do, it will make me want to move there even more.

Not Sure If You Get Them, But If You Do
You need to try the new Amped Iron Man slurpee. It's awesome.

I think Jones has already got traded in my league once.

I'm Trying To Trade Him And Cain
To the new guy for Berkman.

It's a been concerning that the reigning champion wanted him in my league.

I'm the Reigning Champion in my League
If that makes you feel any better. If I can get Berkman, I can stick him at 1B, then I could put Garrett Atkins in the UTIL (or even bench him), and use him to start at 1B or 3B over Braun or Berkman when they have days off (Atkins has 1B elig. there for some reason).

Not Sure. But Steiner
Wasn't surprised when it happened, so it might've been one of those balls in the hole that the SS got and couldn't do anything with.

I think he'll have a year fairly similar to Chris Young's last year.

Steiner Just Botched A Trivia Question
Said that the Aaron brothers hold the record of homers by brothers, which is true, but said they had 756. Just looked it up. Tommie Aaron had 13 homers, not 1, so they really had 768.
It's really only the bottom of the 5th?

Steiner Just Asked If There's Ever Been Two Stud Brothers
And acted like there weren't any (as they're talking about the stud Uptons). Yet, he didn't mention the Waners. How can you forget the Waners?! Big Poison! Little Poison! Now, I'm not saying that Lloyd Waner is actually that good, and definitely don't think he should be in the HOF, but they're two Hall of Famers, and a old-timer like Steiner probably should have mentioned them.
Who's the Best Collection of Brothers?
Is the question Steiner just asked. Off the top of my head, I'd go with the Niekros or Waners. Mabye the Alous. Of course, I assume the Uptons will surpass all of them.
Totally Forgot Them.
Dom Dimaggio was good.

Steiner Just Mentioned The Alomars.
And then he mentioned the Boones? The Boones? Are you kidding me? Bret wasn't good for that long, and Aaron was never really that good at all.

You can't beat "Big Poison" and "Little Poison."

Steiner Just Said It Was Just A Joy
"To watch Kemp cut the corner on second base." That's a first. Never heard someone "love that" before.
Another K
This is ridiculous. Has Andruw Jones K'd at least twice in every game this year? Because that's what it feels like.
This 2-3 night
I hope has cemented his place in the lineup.

Re
If you get a great ball to hit on the 1st pitch, I'm all for taking it, because it sounds like Ethier was served up a juicy meatball he just missed on.

I Have MLB Radio
Upton's back was literally against the wall. It sounds like Ethier missed a homer by inches.

Seriously?
I leave my car and it's 5-2 with the bases loaded. I turn on the TV and it's 9-2.

Loaiza will get a couple months I think, barring a complete implosion. Kuo, sadly, will probably be hurt by then.

You Probably Should Have Tried
To trade Reynolds to capitalize on his hot week. As for Snyder, Towles and Soto will be better, so if they're available, pick one of them up is my advice.

Kuroda needs to be money tomorrow, we have no bullpen left and the game is in 14 hours.

I couldn't watch the game
after the 4th I was more focused on the back and forth banter between the Dodger and Diamondback fans in the right field bleachers. Surprised there wasn't an all out brawl.
