Game Chat 8: Arizona Diamondbacks

Los Angeles @ Arizona

The Dodgers take on Doug Davis as he makes his last start before undergoing chemotherapy. I like Doug Davis for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, so I'm pulling for him tonight. Don't hate me.

He's Trying to Go Out On a High Note

Two K's in 2 batters. Matt Kemp needs to do something tonight, or he will be on the bench tomorrow.

Thanks Billingsley

There goes my ERA this week.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 6:58 PM PDT   0 recs

Mine too.

I'm starting to respect Mark Reynolds.

From what I've seen so far, it makes sense. I just hope he never gets patience.

The Only Person I've Seen Learn That

Off the top of my head is Jose Reyes.

Hudson started walking all of a sudden at a much later age.

I'm about to turn on the streaming radio.

How Do You Hit Gary Bennett

In front of anybody besides the pitcher?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 7:08 PM PDT   0 recs

He's hitting in front of the guy that should be in AA at least. I'd say it's a wash.

Andruw Jones

Also killing my fantasy team. Vinny just said the D-Backs messed up an easy double play.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 7:10 PM PDT   0 recs

If the Diamondbacks are going to kill us, I'd prefer Byrnes and Synder do it at least.

You Had To Draft Snyder?

That's insane. Are Soto or Towles available?

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 7:17 PM PDT   0 recs

Paulino is the best avaliable.

With Billingsley tonight.

Supposedly Bills' relase point is all over the place. That's comforting.

They Should Let Davis Hit

He's getting chemo tomorrow. I'd want to swing the bat.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 7:21 PM PDT   0 recs

I think his career average is below .100, I don't know if he'd want to.

Chris Young Is Up

This could end very badly. The D-Backs need to stop batting him leadoff.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 7:22 PM PDT   0 recs

When everyone in the lineup has power, it does create a bit of a dillema.

Ethier Got It!

I think that was just a regular fly ball, but I'm still excited.

There's more suspense in the ESPN Gamecast, it doesn't give you the In Play (outs recorded).

Just In Play. Gives you a second or two to watch the little ball travel.

I Figured You Were There

If you had Gamecast on.

Do they have 7-11's in Southern California? I would assume they do, but if they do, it will make me want to move there even more.

I'm the Reigning Champion in my League

If that makes you feel any better. If I can get Berkman, I can stick him at 1B, then I could put Garrett Atkins in the UTIL (or even bench him), and use him to start at 1B or 3B over Braun or Berkman when they have days off (Atkins has 1B elig. there for some reason).

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 8:30 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Heck, I agree. I pretty much always think the person who got the best player won the trade.

Not Sure. But Steiner

Wasn't surprised when it happened, so it might've been one of those balls in the hole that the SS got and couldn't do anything with.

Steiner Just Botched A Trivia Question

Said that the Aaron brothers hold the record of homers by brothers, which is true, but said they had 756. Just looked it up. Tommie Aaron had 13 homers, not 1, so they really had 768.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 8:36 PM PDT   0 recs

Steiner's not known for his attention to detail.

Steiner Just Asked If There's Ever Been Two Stud Brothers

And acted like there weren't any (as they're talking about the stud Uptons). Yet, he didn't mention the Waners. How can you forget the Waners?! Big Poison! Little Poison! Now, I'm not saying that Lloyd Waner is actually that good, and definitely don't think he should be in the HOF, but they're two Hall of Famers, and a old-timer like Steiner probably should have mentioned them.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 8:42 PM PDT   0 recs

Who's the Best Collection of Brothers?

Is the question Steiner just asked. Off the top of my head, I'd go with the Niekros or Waners. Mabye the Alous. Of course, I assume the Uptons will surpass all of them.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 8:43 PM PDT   0 recs

The Dimaggio's are up there too.

Steiner Just Mentioned The Alomars.

And then he mentioned the Boones? The Boones? Are you kidding me? Bret wasn't good for that long, and Aaron was never really that good at all.

by Tango and Cash on Apr 8, 2008 8:46 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Alomar's might be the leader here.

This is ridiculous. Has Andruw Jones K'd at least twice in every game this year? Because that's what it feels like.
