Furcal's Back Is Hung Like A Horse
Rafael Furcal has been diagnosed with a bulging disk in his back, further delaying his return to the Dodgers, and subjecting us to way more Angel Berroa than is healthy.
I'm not a doctor, but how do you examine a guy's back for a month and a half, and then suddenly discover he has a bulging disk?

” Torre said he would give Blake DeWitt a look at shortstop before thinking about turning to All-Star catcher Russell Martin, who has said shortstop is his dream position to play.”
What?

Nothing to it
basically just saying that Martin will never see SS.
Dodger medical staff does not seem to have gotten any better after the change over or the always had a bulging disk and they are just now disclosing it.
Karros is really giving it to Penny.
Kemp misses two games and we get shut out twice. He returns and we score our 1st run in his 1st at bat. Not that he’s important or anything to the offense. Leyland is not impressed with our lineup, going for the squeeze in the 3rd inning with a debut pitcher on the mound. How embarrassing.

Rotowire on Nomar
Nomar Garciaparra (3B) LA 6/14/2008
Garciaparra (calf) hopes to start a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Las Vegas, the Los Angeles Times reports. Joe Torre was cautious with his comments, warning that Garciaparra hasn’t run much and until he does, the team won’t feel comfortable sending him on a rehab assignment. The Dodgers still plan to use him at shortstop when he comes back.

Worse
defensive Dodger keystone combo in Dodger history if that pairing takes place.
