Maria McKee was easy to have a crush on. I also was into Martha Davis for a while.

What are you old guys talking about? Unless it’s Dazed and Confused, which I’ve been told is essentially a documentary of the 70’s high school life, I don’t want to hear it.

re:

I was dazed and confused in junior high school. By high school I was less dazed but still confused. Besides these are the 80’s, you couldn’t get into these clubs unless you were 21.

So we’re talking the Breakfast Club?

Even when we hit home runs we get the minimum.

I was right to obsess about double plays :)

You only obsess

about them with players you want to make a point against. If it was LaRoche you would call it bad luck.

by Phil Gurnee on Aug 27, 2008 4:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, probably.

Seeing Loney as the least valuable offensive first baseman in the league sort of made me pay more attention to them though. Probably one of those things that only matter at the extremes.

Interesting

His LD% is down, his FB% up and his HR/BIA is half of his previous two years.

In short he’s not driving the ball as much and he’s not hitting as many homers when he hits it in the air.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

Are you sure?

Well, it has multiplayer, which I assumed was online. How do you play multiplayer?

by Tango and Cash on Aug 27, 2008 6:03 PM PDT up reply actions

Depends upon the kind of multiplayer

Probably start the multiplayer mode and if its single cart then have the other person boot their DS to the DS config screen or whatever and have them choose Download Play.

If its multi cart then you need more than one copy of the game.

All I need to do is go into a hipster coffee shop and say “Quite Frankly, everything Karl Marx says is important!” Then if that doesn’t work, you always go to Nietszche. He’s the god of hipsters.

You wouldn’t even have to read any of his books. You just need to carry one around into a hipster establishment, then either start (pretending to) reading it, or just make sure everyone can see you have it. Then some hipster girl will come up to talk to you about him, just agree with everything she says, and in 15 minutes, you’ll have a date to go to a peace rally, or go recycling or something.

Wow..

Versus the Nationals…

Back to a previous point, our team BABIP may be .299, but when you’re hitting .100 as a team with RISP, you are getting unlucky. We are getting plenty of baserunners, they’re just getting evenly spread throughout the game instead of clustering up in some innings.

I don’t know whether to be more frustrated by the hitting or the fielding. Which is worse, bad luck keeping you out of the playoffs or bad defense?
