Hi Reg,
Love your work, new poster. Want to draw your attention to a couple good posts/questions for you on Dodger Thoughts, posts #934 and 944.
On the latter, 0.68 run per single is a pretty high number. I am not math whiz. Firstly, the number must be different for NL vs AL given the DH? Secondly, if we were to look back to the last 1/3/5 years, what are the total # of runs scored in the NL and how does this compare with the total hits + errors + walks? We could of course get more sophisticated here eg subtracting single-run homers from both run and hit total. But I would be surprised to see 0.68 run, even for each hit + error + walk. Am I totally wrong here?
Your fan,
Hubestar

All this is true, but I’m not smart enough to figure out linear weights numbers myself, so I just have to go with the published league wide numbers.
The .68 number comes from not what a single is worth, but the difference between a single and a fly out.
