Dodger sign a bazillion nobodies and one Brazoban

This spring at least one of these players will be touted as having figured everything out. Here is the list per Bill Shaikin but after a quick glimpse I don't see any possible Wilson Alveraz's here. Do you?

They are not big fans, let’s just say. If you check the homepage, they’ve already updated it with the announcement of the Castro signing.

Are they fans of anything the Dodgers do?

yup

I agree, WTF do we need Juan Castro for?

Guys like Strickland, Edgar Martinez, and Val Pascucci will fit nicely in Albuquerque. It’s going to be weird not saying Las Vegas anymore.

I can’t see why we had to get so many left handed relievers though. I guess its better that one or two might pan out instead of splurging on Beimel or any of the other available free agents. I guess…

re:

It could hurt. I could easily see them picking Castro over Hu for the major league roster. We know Castro is a useless bat on the roster, we don’t know what Hu could bring.

What I fully expect is that with Furcal here for three years, they will send Hu down to AAA to improve his value and then deal him for some worthless player sticking us with Castro on the major league roster. Then when Furcal gets hurt we will be screwed again.

What are the Dodgers going to do with DeJesus then? Another year tearing up AA pitching?

re:

He certainly could use another year in the minors. Tearing up Puerto Rican pitching is no big deal and if the scouting reports are correct it sounds like he’s moving to 2nd anyway. He made some huge strides last year but additional strides in gap power would be nice.

Ah

well I guess there’s that. I (I guess stupidly) think about signings as if I were the GM, so these ridiculous scenarios never play out in my head. That sounds very bad.

Luis Maza, Juan Castro, and Hector Luna…Great options for the upcoming vacancy at the shortstop position once Rafeal gets injured, HA!
