Kemp Takes In The Clippers Game

Dodgers centerfielder Matt Kemp turned up at the Clippers game last night. He's apparently good friends with Clippers Number One draft pick Blake Griffin, and also seemed pretty chummy with former Clipper Corey Maggette, who now plays with the Warriors. Anyway, Phil Gurnee who sits nearby asked if I would post some pictures of Kemp here. So here you  go Phil:

(Ignore this part. In order to post this it has to have at least 75 words. So here goes: Philly sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! Philly Sucks! That ought to be about 75 words)

I have never seen such awesome proficiency in meeting the 75 word requirement.

Nice job. Good to see the Bison nice and relaxed ready to pounce on a 3-2 pitch.

Matt Kemp is my favorite Dodger...

And the Clippers are my favorite basketball team. Weird combo, I know, but I like it.

We were down by 20 points at halftime

and I’ve seen many celebs leave the game at halftime during a regular season game.

by meercatjohn on Oct 14, 2009 3:07 PM PDT up reply actions

Just in case someone wants to do a fact check on those 20 points

it may have only been about 17 so I should play it safe, they were down between 1 and 20 points at halftime.

It was 17

And it was great seeing the game and the 2010 ROY.

that 2nd photo

seems like the usher lady has some kind of issue. possibly a Philly fan? For some reason I would really like to but some context in the conversation.

Oh yea and nice shots on Flickr

I can fill you in

Two girls wanted his photo and were yelling out his name at half time. The Usher was telling them to go away when Kemp heard them calling his name. He got out of chair and the Usher was telling him the girls couldn’t come down to him but that he could go around and up to them. Which he did and then the Usher ended up taking the photo as he hugged both girls. He was very cool about the whole thing.

Steve can vouch

for when he took the photo with the story below but the story I mentioned above also did happen. Just don’t want you to think I was making stuff up. BH can vouch for me.

Sweet story. Kemp is the man.

The incident with the two girls and the photo did happen, although I think it was later in the second half. If I’m not mistaken this was taken just before half time and Kemp was trying to find a snack bar. He originally was going to go into the tunnel under the stands which is where is pointing, and I think the Usher was telling him there were no food stands under there and he would have to go up to get food, which is where she’s pointing. He then went up the steps through the 100 level seats out into the lower level of the Arena where there are food stands. When he came back it looked like he had a package of Gummy Bears that he proceeded to eat.

Perhaps he found the prices of everything else too high.

Down in those seats, I thought they brought the food to the people.

Your right

but I don’t think I saw any of them working that night.

thanks

funny how a expression caught in a photo can influence things. that look and gesture seems to say you get out of here that way. of course in the next instant she could have a big smile then a couple of moments later Bison is back all happy with his Gummy Bears
