Not to be too curmudgeonly but
throughout Los Angeles … throughout the city …
I count two in Hollywood and three on the Westside. Of course, I don’t know that I’ve seen any digital billboards in the SF Valley or East LA yet. It is a cool idea though.

You're right dave
My sister works next to one of the billboards. I believe she works by Wilshire and Sunset.

Boo!
So much for racing home to watch the game from the first pitch without knowing scores

This is Stupido!
Anyone who wants to know the score can listen to the radio. There are those who don’t want to know the score so they can get home and watch it on DVR. I constantly avoid people at work who will try to update me with scores when I have the game recorded at home.

I agree that from an information standpoint it’s kind of lame, when most people have a radio in their car. From a Dodger or MLB marketing perspective it’s pretty ingenious as some people who are just casual fans may decide to tune in when they get home, not knowing that there was a game on.

Sigh
I have no internet at my house, which means unless a neighbor has unlocked wireless I won’t be online. It’s usually 50/50 I get a signal.

Also
Depending on how much traffic there is, I will be about an hour behind watching the game, so until I catch up, I won’t be checking any scores.

I'm amazed at how ignorant non-baseball fans are of the game.
Since everyone at work knows I’m the baseball guy they have been coming into my office all day and asking the lamest questions about baseball. I don’t understand how you can be 25 years old, born in the US and no so little about the greatest game being played in your country.

Because when you were born 25 years ago, Pete Rozelle had just finished kicking MLB’s ass throughout all of Bowie Kuhn’s tenure as commissioner of baseball. And Magic Johnson et al., and later Jordon, were taking the NBA to new heights, which David Stern knew how to exploit to the public.

This is not about information.....it is about scoring...
….it is a blatant promotional move. Even people who know nothing about Dodger baeball will see the billboards blazing as the sun goes down. And, I’m sure Dodgers management hopes, will get interested enough to either watch the games on tv or even buy a ticket next year. Very clever, actually. From what I understand, McCourt’s wife wants to stay with the team (not literally of course), and is committed to its success. For Frank, it has always been about business. I say let the billboards blaze—-just let the Dodger bats blaze even hotter!
