All we needed was an opposite field grounder and contact from Kemp. That’s it. Not a homerun, a double, or even a single. Ughhhh.

by Epic Phail on Oct 15, 2009 8:21 PM PDT up reply actions

The chances that we sign Blake if we don’t trade for him are pretty damn low. That 2 month rental turned into a 3 and a half year player.

Um, why?

He signs for less money elsewhere if he wasn’t traded the previous year for Carlos Santana??

If the Dodgers don't trade for Blake

then at the very day we still have Laroche and Dewitt. I am under the complete and total assumption that even with Laroche being dealt we would have started Dewitt at 3rd this season.

okay

Kershaw is struggling immensely, he has a history of doing this at times, much like billingsley

he has zero command and is grooving balls to get strikes over like the ruiz homer

you have two lefties coming up, elbert got up before hand, this was the role Joe groomed him for, you put him on the roster over weaver for this reason

if you don’t have confidence don’t take him to the NLCS

How’s that?

two runs off Lidge now

I just don’t see it happening.

NO, BRAD LIDGE HAS NOT RETURNED TO FORM!!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW THE HELL YOU CAN DEDUCE THAT BASED ON TWO OUTINGS!!!!

11 Left on base

the fucking Phillies have 2 homeruns for 5 runs. We’ve got 2 guys with 3 hits each, 1 of them with a solo homerun, and the guys right in front of one of them keep ending rallies.

If you knew at the start of the game that Kershaw is on the mound and the Dodgers score 6 runs, I’d take that all day.

Hard to win when you give up two three run HRs. Nonetheless, plenty of chances to win this thing.

Best record in the NL. Lots of homegrown talent coming into its own.

I can think of 28 teams that would like to be where the Dodgers are right now.

by prosellis on Oct 15, 2009 8:54 PM PDT up reply actions

From my perspective...yes

But I’d really like to root for you guys in the WS. I don’t really want to root for the Angels (I’m neutral about the Yankees), but I would if the Phillies were there.

by SabreRoseTiger on Oct 15, 2009 8:54 PM PDT up reply actions

yes

Most of the teams are already finished, Los Angeles is one of four teams that haven’t started the offseason yet. Most teams would love to be in that position. It was a great year.

by shaqfor3 on Oct 15, 2009 8:54 PM PDT reply actions

This game is so counterintuitive it is absurd.

1. Dodgers push across 4R on 8H against Hamels
2. Phillies push across 5R on 4H against Kershaw
3. Home Loney jacks one
4. Sherrill gives up 3
5. Martin 2-4 with a 2b

Is anyone questioning the validity of this result? I’m thinking aliens replaced the Dodgers and Phillies to see if we would notice.

So do you think they’ll bring JB back to pitch the 10th after they tie it up in the 9th?

by KellyStephen on Oct 15, 2009 8:58 PM PDT reply actions

What do you mean?

You don’t go out for the 10th when you have the lead as the home team.

by Ivdown on Oct 15, 2009 8:59 PM PDT up reply actions

Tight strike zone helped both teams rack up a lot of runs. Phillies did a better job of laying off the pitches high and out of the zone.
