I can think of another playoff team recently

Who had a solo shot from a left handed first baseman to take an early lead.

Our offseason is gonna be messy

If the McCourts can’t figure it out. If Jaime ends up as sole owner, will she make some weird changes? I guess she can’t be worse than her husband, or better for that matter.

I’m a huge fan too, but talking Lakers makes me feel like we’re giving up on the Dodgers. Its Dodger season and THEN Laker season. We’ll get there, and everything will be good. Lets just hope we don’t get there until November, hehehe

Really

Padilla’s line 52 pitches, 39/13 strike/ball, 3 hits, 0 walks and 4 K.

That is pretty good.

Yeah he’s pitching fine in my book right now. Plus, the HR was to Howard, so that’s excusable.

Good God Ruiz owns us

Career Split against us
.378 .511 .622 1.132

Next closest is Arizona at a .891 OPS when looking at more then 10 at bats. So against us he’s 250 OPS better then against anyone else, and almost .500 points better then his norm.

Are pretty much worthless, cause typically the loudest of these chants are for teams or players who don’t suck.

Its just hard to get a good creative chant going.

One that is both catchy and easy to remember.

And yours seems really, really low

“Skinny: Simulator Fun Facts… My simulator and Vegas are in very good agreement on the Game #2 win probabilities. The Game #1 loss dropped the Dodgers ‘Series Win Probability’ down to 38.1%. A win tomorrow will raise it back up to 51.9%, while a loss would drop it to a depressing 19.9%.”

by Jacob Burch on Oct 16, 2009 2:57 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Is that from a strictly historical perspective

or does it factor in matchups, etc. I’m basing a lot of my pessimism on facing their ace in game 3, v. a guy for us who’s been hurt.

by oshea2002 on Oct 16, 2009 2:58 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

20% is kind of pessimistic

not exactly of a fan of 1 in 5 odds. Still we only need to win two games in Philly. We did that once already this year, we can do it again. No need to ride the negative train until we have lost all four games.

by meercatjohn on Oct 16, 2009 3:00 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I can believe a statistical analysis of many iterations considering most factors

or a bunch of cynical/pessimistic sports fans. I’ll side with Frank.

ill take neither actually

i think the commentators are wrong about pedros mystique. they are all dropping their elbows thinkin they can catch up to his fastball and hit it hard. instead they are all getting out in front of all his offspeed junk and hitting lazy fly balls.

in the 1996 WS

the yankees lost both games 1 and 2 to the Atlanta Braves at home
Torre managed that club….but they turned it around in Atlanta
taking all 3 games including a game 4 rally from a 6 run deficit
and they clinched it in game 6 in new york

i know anything is possible but id like to avoid this…

Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....

If we can't avoid it

I’m all for doing it that way. And the Yankee’s were facing some nasty pitching back then. They beat Glavine (Lee Clone), Neagle (AJ Happ anyone), and Smoltz.

It's a tough call

Him getting more than one at bat per game could change everything, but the added defense JP in LF adds is very intriguing.
