Eric says there's a new game thread in the beginning of a new hour
So the next one is at 7 I believe.
perfect time for a grand slam
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
Get Howard to the plate boys
is the single stupidest sign I’ve ever seen
well
ethier owns blanton
so tomorrow can only get better
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
This is the low point of the last six months
I thought it was the fifth inning of game one, but I was wrong.
wait for another run to score before putting bills in
great job
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
A pic of a turd in a Philly cheese stake bun should accompany the game recap for this game
But then again, I’m sure that’s what Dodger Blues had planned
so dodgers fans...
do you guys all leave here before the 7th inning?
Clearly they do
Although as a Phillies fan, I’m not surprised at your lack of basic understanding of the game.

garbage time
just 6 innings long
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
"just bring manny to the plate with the bases loaded boys"

haha no i was just trying to make fun of that dumb sign

ah i missed the sarcasm in response to my sarcasm lol

or perhaps

The pressure is off for this game
The Dodgers have seemingly lost it, so why not just calm down, and start building on something.
Who knows what can happen

And by seemingly
I mean, the Phillies believe the Dodgers have lost it, but I don’t know if the Dodgers ever know they have lost until the game is over.

I wonder which McCourt
gets the official boxscore from this game.
Jamie gets the Phillies half, Frank gets the Dodger half.
Jamie gets the ‘bigger piece’, Frank gets to keep the Dodgers…

nice work bills
too bad we couldnt have had him in at the start of the game
im sure it wouldnt have been anywhere near this bad
but thats pure hindsight
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
so since he came in an inning later
he’ll break down in the 7th?

by the way
what is “trollish” about talking about the game? trolls are people who spout nonsense or feign a position.
We're all waiting for something intelligent from you
Until then, we’ll just assume you are a troll.
WHAMMY!
I was always bad at instructions
I always touched the fish tank as a kid, and made faces at the monkeys, I guess nothings changed.
WHAMMY!
Elbert better hope he gets another chance to pitch in relief and does well.
Because Torre going to try to ship his ass to the Pirates at this rate.
Well, I was hoping to arrive to a better score
I’ve never seen Scott Elbert before, but he looked scared out of his mind.
He'll be fine
I wouldn’t be surprised to find him in the starting rotation next year.
Either him or McDonald will have to move into that role…
by Michael White on Oct 18, 2009 6:13 PM PDT up reply actions
I still think that Elbert is traded this off season.
Not because I’m down on him, but I’m sure Colletti and Torre are down on Elbert.
I like them both
but Elbert needs to show a little more at the MLB level. I think McDonald deserves another shot at starting
I am a big Elbert fan
but he’s never seemed to make that transition to the bigs very well.
hey, there!
We have a bit of a troll infestation, so keep all your food closed up so as not to be an attractant. :)

Just so you know, I’m a woman.
And just so elberto knows, I’ve been in Dodgers game threads throughout the postseason. I just wasn’t able to be here for the beginning of this game.

I'd really love to see Chad have a great showing
more for him than anyone, obviously our chances of winning aren’t good but going forward we can turn this into a positive if he rights the ship.
You know what's funny
Even if Chad throws well for a few innings. Someone like Plaschke will rip him and discredit the accomplishment as it came in mop up duty.

by Eric Stephen on Oct 18, 2009 6:20 PM PDT via mobile reply actions 1 recs
You can start banning Torre if he doesn't start pulling pitchers more quickly
with Bills in the pen.
It was pretty obvious Elbert was in to get Utley and Howard, so he could be pinch hit for the next half inning, THEN bring bills in. Just didn’t work out.

Elberto is claiming sole ownership
TBLA claiming 50/50.
Elbert isn't Torre's Stults.
Torre, if anything will always give talent guys a chance. People just might disagree what the talent is.
But still, He needs to get better results if only so he can be used regularly.
I hope thats a prediction for the score
at the end of the sixth
How this game has made me feel

The rule is
not to say no hitter “while a no hitter is in progress.”
It’s not considered a no hitter unless the pitcher starts the game and goes 9 innings.

bilingsley will kill this philly team
someone just score a goddamn run
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
Well, I'm not sure I can offer you much insight as far as Lee is concerned
The Tigers did beat him three times this year, but he got outpitched each time. They never scored more than 3 runs off him. However, the Dodgers have a better offense than the Tigers.
somehow this bugs me less than game one
not like we’re wasting a valiant offensive effort or a crack at a mediocre pitcher
If there was a mistake that could have been corrected, it was letting Kuroda start the 2nd inning.
By that time, everyone knew he didn’t have it.
not so much doubt

Game 2 of the 1956 World Series
Dodgers trail 6-0 to the Yankees, come back, win game. Plus, with all the comebacks this year’s team has had, why be so down to begin with?

Dodgers need to get creative
Send a line drive off his pitching elbow that ricochets to then hit his clavicle. That will get him out of the game.

for those who didnt understand the “Get howard to the plate” sign in the stands, it refers to howards own quote from the dugout during the 9th inning of their comeback in game 4 in colorado…he said “just get me to the plate, boys” they did, he delivered and the rest is history…
