I’m sorry, but that’s fucking gay.
That should have meant nothing more than a bunch of people from here going and having fun and relaxing, now a week god damn later the division is on the damn line now.
I can’t even watch ESPN anymore because I can’t watch this shit happen to the Dodgers again after I’ve already watched them lose.
Fuck Tulowitski.
let’s try to remember that gay is not a synonym for lame or awful

and truly jovial

and that it will be! :)

Yes, God forbid anyone should find something positive during this losing streak. Not everyone is wallowing in misery you know.
by Eric Stephen on Oct 2, 2009 10:57 PM PDT up reply actions
personally
i’m almost amused by this, because I know that this horrible luck can’t go on forever. I mean we made the playoffs, and if we blow this we get Philly in the 1st round, and they suck at home. So really…it’s a bad choke but not the end of the world

WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS

by bucknellbruin on Oct 2, 2009 10:59 PM PDT up reply actions
1 win in the last week would have given us homefield advantage, being in the playoffs is great, but homefield and the West title would be even better.
yep
2 games left, 1 win needed. unless i’m mistaken we’ve accomplished that at some point this year
Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

Right, but stop trying to make everyone feel as miserable as you.
If we wanted to feel shitty, we would read any comment by stillnotah8er
by Eric Stephen on Oct 2, 2009 11:00 PM PDT up reply actions
I'm not the only person venting
There is no way to just always look at the bright side, there’s just no way to do that.
That’s fine, but you were asked specifically to stop one thing. Do that.
by Eric Stephen on Oct 2, 2009 11:05 PM PDT up reply actions
fuck u ump!!!
pitch 3 was fucking outside u piece of shit!!!
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
It was obvious to everyone, but he was calling shitty high strikes on us tonight, so why change now? Fucking gay.
yeah lets try and remember that gay is not a synonym for lame or awful

Stop telling me that
I use gay for that all the time, I’m sorry that you feel differently, but I’m not going to change that.
You will change it if you want to keep commenting here
by Eric Stephen on Oct 2, 2009 11:00 PM PDT up reply actions
you do realize that offends a lot of people right?
it’s a lot different than using it here then at home with your friends

the ump was enjoying a tasty gin and tonic at the hotel bar
in his mind, and the zone expanded. part of the game.

how can this happen?? DODGERS HAVE NO HEART !!!!
by LongBeachDodger on Oct 2, 2009 10:56 PM PDT via mobile reply actions
no they had heart tonight
it was the lack of clutch that was key

this is so fucking depressing

We don’t need to turn this in to ump bashing…the Furcal AB was bad, but fuck the offense has been bad for a week.
just pissed off
i guess i got pissed by the nonexistent offense and that kinda was when things boiled over…but now im over it… :/

But I believe it about Kershaw.
ok.. time to regroup, we beat Lincecum...we can definately beat DeLaRosa .
by LongBeachDodger on Oct 2, 2009 11:01 PM PDT via mobile reply actions
i'm not that bummed
ubaldo was dealing, the tulo homer was pretty manly, 400 ft at the top edge of the zone… CK just needs to go out there and make money.
george looked great, rafi looked great, JB was HOF level, the D was really sharp, the cards managed to blow it… not the worst outcome
Dodgers vs De La Rosa
(I also posted this on DT, but worth reposting)
For tomorrow’s game, fwiw:
Dodgers vs Jorge de la Rosa:
Casey Blake: 6 for 23 lifetime, 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, 4 walks.
Matt Kemp: 9 for 17, 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs.
Furcal is 3 for 9.
Manny is 4 for 11 with a 2B and BB.
lefty Loney is 8 for 17, 2 2Bs, 7 RBIs and a HR.
ODog is 5 for 10 with a 2B and RBI.
Belliard is 3 for 6.
Do you see a pattern here?
If the Dodgers are struggling then maybe they’ll struggle against anyone. But at least they have reason to give us some semblance of hope in that matchup.
Sleep on that. :-) Night folks.

lets hope we see that tomorrow

that has to be a record

That photo above
looks like it might as well have been Raffy’s final out, the line drive that could have found a hole but didn’t. That’s baseball for you.
I hate baseball right now but expect to love it again tomorrow.
Is it TBLA game? Hope they win for you guys.

That was almost shades of McCovey in the 1962 WS.
Hopefully the loss won’t have use devolve into McCovey Chronicles :)

ironic that the news has a headline for a segment called horror night...haha

what's the single season record
for Ks/IP (with a minimum of 50 or so IP, of course)?
JB must be up there.
Broxton is now up to #9 all-time, at 13.68 after tonight

Gagne’s 2003 (14.98) narrowly edged Billy Wagner’s 1999 (14.95)

90% of that list
is between 25 and 27. amazing how closers fall of a cliff after 28 like clockwork.

Manny - steroids = 2008 Andruw Jones
I posted it on my facebook status during the game, but since I’m almost positive none of you have it, I post it now.
You mean
Manny + injured wrist = weak August 09.
I love how people ignore his season’s OPS, even all the good numbers he had after the suspension, and just lump his past few weeks with the whole rest of it. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
The commenter formerly known as "Dashiell".
manny + long dreads = interference in at bats
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
This is Insanity
If we had just held on to the win in Pittsburgh a week ago, we would have wrapped up the division, and HFA in the NL for the rest of the year.
Wow.
The fact that we still only have to win one of two is crazy. This squad is still blessed.
and yet that's still seems a tall order.

i still dont believe how we let that game get away
really if we didnt make all those errors in that game, we woundnt be in this pit…but thats how it is unfortunately…
Because when I think of Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of Romanticism....
yeah, but you could pick any one of 160
a little less rust on the beard, tonight would have been seriously different

Weird loosing streak too
Pitching has been good except for Kuroda whose spine was melting.
No errors tonight. Even the offense got going tonight.
This is a lot like our last loosing streak.
…except for Kuroda whose spine was melting
