It's The One Thing

If we’ve learned one thing the 2nd half of the season and even in these playoffs, it’s that we can’t expect Manny to carry us to a W.S. title. We are going to have to improve in other areas and hope that people like Billingsley regress back to their previous talent level.

by shaqfor3 on Oct 21, 2009 7:21 PM PDT reply actions

ALL the umps suck this postseason.

I mean, if they can miss two Yankees being out because they were both tagged when NEITHER was standing on the base, how can they possibly be expected to call fair balls fair, notice when someone is actually hit by a pitch, and call a strike a strike just because the catcher might be sitting in a different position?

Just horrible. And baseball can’t be happy that the excretory officiating is one of the biggest stories of the playoffs, either – but that’s just tough.

Let's not forget there were major blown calls that went against the Twins, Rockies, and the Red Sox

Though in the case of the Twins, I don’t feel sorry for them because they got all the breaks to get into the postseason. And I don’t feel sorry for the Red Sox because I don’t like them. I felt bad for the Rockies, though.

hard to blame the umpiring for a series loss. The calls were consistently bad on both sides. However, when the strike zone isn’t consistent, the Phillies have the power up and down the lineup to take advantage of pitches in the middle of the zone. Now I just have to wait for the Rams to finally win. I phuckin’ hate the phillies. I hope the AL whoops on them. Arrrgggghhh!!!!

Sorry, guys. I feel your pain.

I had a really good time here on TBLA these past couple weeks. You Dodger fans are cool. Maybe next year, if the Tigers are off or the games are at completely different times, I’ll join you for a game or two, if you’ll have me. And of course our teams will see each other in Interleague play. In the meantime, go Yankees/Angels! Beat the Phillies!

Here’s hoping for a Tigers-Dodgers World Series in 2010! :-p
