NYC Dodger Bar?

As a recent transplant to NYC from LA, I'm looking for a Dodger bar to watch this exciting playoff series. I'm a die hard Dodger, Lakers and Bruin fan as I just graduated from UCLA this year. It would be wonderful to watch this series along with other LA Dodger fans. I live in Manhattan, so hopefully there's a bar that someone knows of in the Downtown or Midtown area. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the Club

Been here for over 4 years and haven’t really found one for the Lakers or the Dodgers, but I have found one for my college’s alumni associastion to watch football (University of Colorado) so UCLA probably does something like that.

Pretty much any sports bar in NYC has the MLB package so they’ll play the game for you during the regular season, and almost any bar will have it on anyways during the post-season. People love the Lakers out here (maybe more than they love the Knicks) and they seem to dig the Dodgers a lot right now (I think it’s the Torre/Mattingly connection – but I also think they like seeing they’re hometown boy Manny on a team that they don’t have to play.

Sorry for the rant…I was planning on making a post like this soon to see if we could get a group to meet up. I’ve got 4 or 5 friends out here that are big Dodger fans so its usually easy to get a lot going. Maybe for one of this weekend’s games? Where in Manhattan do you live?

Me too...

I have been out here for little over a year, very poor showing for LA sports bars. I am Dodgers, Lakers, USC, but I do support UCLA too whether you like it or not. I am just a diehard LA fan in general.

At any rate, I will be at Soldier Magee’s on Amsterdam and 81st ish tonight in the UWS, for at least part of the game. It would be great to organize something for a game.

As Fars as Showings for Other Cities

Boston is the only one that has anything here. There are a few Boston bars around the city and then a lot of random NFL ones. But like LA, there’s transplants here from all around the world, so its not that hard to find a bar that’s at least playing your game.

i live in the East Village. And a few of my friends, including an SC alum were interested in watching tonight’s game. I was thinking Side Bar at Union Square might be a good place.

YO

Hey man, same boat. Dodgers, Lakers, and Bruins fan. The UCLA Alum get together every Saturday for football. We’ll be at Vintage Irving in the East Village this Saturday for the UCLA vs. Oregon game at 3:30. I’ll be there and finding a place to watch the Dodgers game that night.

I’ll be at Professor Thom’s tonight to watch the Dodgers game. It’s on 2nd Ave. btwn 13th and 14th St. I’ll be in a Dodgers cap.
