But that is on his hat every time I see him. And it’s always in the same spot, ever since his days with the Athletics

lol

It became a very brief mini-controversy in the World Series last year, but Fox did absolutely no follow-up and it died.

sabathia probably wont last anymore then 5 innings today

maybe 6.. pitch count and the phillies are probably gonna hit him hard today…

but the yanks will probably hit blanton harder

by matthewmafa on Nov 1, 2009 5:49 PM PST reply actions

Eh. I’d rather the NL win than the New York Frickin’ Yankees, but it’s hard for me to get too worked up for this WS.

I think Sabathia is one of those players labled durable

…like Russell Martin.

That contract will look terrible by 2012.

likely not

They have a good team. But their fans act like they didn’t just win the WS last year for the first time in nearly 30 years. Hold up there, folks, you’re not that great.

Hey Dodgers fans

Huge Braves fan here. We were discussing this earlier on TalkingChop. Ok, the Dodgers obviously need some SP help and the Braves need an impact bat.

What do you guys think about a Jair Jurrjens for Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier deal?

Here’s Jurrjens stats:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jurrjja01.shtml

Jair was fantastic for us in 2009, after a strong rookie season. We got him and prospect Gorkys Hernandez (who we sent to Pittsburg for Nate McLouth) for Edgar Renteria at the end of the 2007 season. Thoughts?

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:06 PM PST reply actions

No Deal

The Dodgers need to add to their pitching WITHOUT subtracting from the offense.

by CanuckDodger on Nov 1, 2009 8:17 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, i dont blame ya

Kemp is a badass CF

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:20 PM PST up reply actions

The only way I want Kemp or Ethier in a trade talk is if they are used as a bait and switch.

We aren’t that desperate. But a kid like that would be great. Would you take Kwame Brown for him?

by Cool Dudes on Nov 1, 2009 8:19 PM PST up reply actions

no...

i’d take Luke Walton tho. Gotta love the UofA boys!

i love Andrew Lambo

saw him play the other day in the AFL. That kid can play. He’s not on Jason Heyward’s level, but he’s gonna be a stud

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:27 PM PST up reply actions

yeah I can see why. is he supposed to be in LF after Manny leaves in 2011?

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:33 PM PST up reply actions

Only if he tears up AA and AAA something fierce in 2010

He’ll only be 22 in 2011, and he struggled in AA at age 20 this year. I’m guessing a Ned Colleti veteran special is in the OF for 2010 with Kemp and Ethier, but that’s just a WAG.

by David Young on Nov 1, 2009 8:38 PM PST up reply actions

an offer for jurjens would be interesting to consider tho

When I look at Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of the romantics... -The Great Bill Walton

by shaqfor3 on Nov 1, 2009 8:28 PM PST up reply actions

It would take quite a bit. And the thought is that if Atlanta would trade Jurrjens, it would have to be for an young, impact bat at either 1B of an OF.

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:31 PM PST up reply actions

yeah thats likely the case

if it involves kemp, kershaw, or ethier it wont happen….

by shaqfor3 on Nov 1, 2009 8:32 PM PST up reply actions

Doesn't the Braves GM still hate the Dodgers for the Rafael Furcal signing incident?

Would you trade us Kelly Johnson? Isn’t he out of favor in Atlanta, and we need a 2B.

by David Young on Nov 1, 2009 8:29 PM PST up reply actions

he doesn’t hate the Dodger’s, just Furcal’s agent for the BS he pulled. And actually, not signing Raffy worked out, cause Martin Prado had a fantastic season at 2B for us.

And yeah, you could definately have Kelly Johnson

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:32 PM PST up reply actions

Like a middle-reliever prospect?

by David Young on Nov 1, 2009 8:34 PM PST up reply actions

maybe for a song AND 3 Dodger dogs. It might have to be 4 tho…we’ll see.

And to be serious, probably a B level prospect or two. KJ had a bad 2009, but could still rebound and return to his ’08 form.

"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"

by Scott Coleman on Nov 1, 2009 8:36 PM PST up reply actions

I might do that, but KJ doesn’t strike me as Ned’s kinda veteran. Too young, almost no post-season experience.

by David Young on Nov 1, 2009 8:40 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, i think he was a rookie in 2005 when we last made the playoffs. not much tho..

There’s a good chance with a 4 run lead that Girardi uses a crappy reliever instead.

but otherwise it;ll be the yanks

a-rod has only 2 hits in the WS

but it possibly won them 2 games… first the HR against hamels which was as momentum changing as they get even tho they were still down and then tonight GW double..

by matthewmafa on Nov 1, 2009 8:49 PM PST reply actions

Phils turn

to see how it feels to let a game 4 that could tie a series slip from their grasp. Nowhere near as crushing a defeat as NLCS game 4, but it will do.
