ya, not sure what’s worse. The Pierre vote at #7 or the Votto vote at #2.

Yup
a first baseman has to be as good as Pujols before I put them into the top group. I’m not sure why I excluded Fielder but I kept comparing him to each player and in each instant I went with the complete player. Offensively Howard was only 13th in VORP so he wouldn’t have made it even before I took into account his defense.

BTW it was snakecharmer at AZ Snake Pit who voted for Pierre

How was I the ONLY person that voted for Pierre…and why would TBLA not like that? :/ Yes, it was me. The guy did really well while Manny was out, he kept LA in the hunt! If he had faltered like he did last year, there’s no WAY the NL West ends up being a runaway (even though it wasn’t really, at the end). I didn’t look at OPS+ specifically, that I remember, but his other numbers were decent, despite his being relegated back to part-time after Manny’s return.
and
Highest AVG on the Dodgers, he came back from a terrible season and took over for Ramirez with a fierceness, played well all season long. Probably the Dodger’s MVP
His ballot:
Pujols
Fielder
Braun
Helton
Sandoval
Hanley
Pierre
Tulo
Reynolds
D.Lee
Wow.

So it was the same guy who gave Pierre a vote AND gave Helton the out-of-whack 4th place vote. Uh, interesting.

I Agree with the Logic
Pierre was the King of 4th Outfielders. He was the MVPs of the subs. Acting like Manny for a month ain’t easy. But probably the highest you can give the first guy off the bench is #10. Even then you would probably have to bring in the closers first, but since they all choked in the post-season . . .sure why not.
Maybe you should have a most valuable scrub category.

Good god
how come no one when giving Pierre all these props ever points out that he was only great for one fucking month and that the following month, still playing full time he sucked. SUCKED.
