Around SBN: Celtics, Heat Score On Purpose In Super Sunday Wins

David Young, who has posted under the name "El Lay Dave" for years both here and at Dodger Thoughts, has been kind enough to join us here at True Blue LA as an Editor. You may remember him from such posts as:

Just How Good is the Dodger Bullpen?
OR
Are Matt Kemp's HR Less Valuable?

Dave, as he has demonstrated through the years, will bring his unique mix of intelligence and humor to his posts. We are glad to have such a great Dodger fan and friend on board, so please welcome him aboard with Open Arms.

Congrats Dave!

Solid writing coming up for sure.

Sorry I missed you and Dave at NLCS Game 2. We were fighting traffic to get there on time. At least you got the cheap beads my brother got :)

They left blue residue on my Kemp jersey! Washed out though.

Congratulations Dave.

What exactly is an editor do on TBLA?

by Ian Capilouto on Nov 4, 2009 11:14 AM PST reply actions

He’ll write stories, and ban anyone who references Journey. Oh shit…

by Eric Stephen on Nov 4, 2009 11:16 AM PST up reply actions

If you guys are talking about Zooey Daschanel, ugh,

that girl bugs me for some reason. I think I don’t like her and M. Ward making these trying to be 60’s sounding songs on their records. You can ban me now.

Come now Ian, wasn’t she the perfect casting for Trillian? (And watch it, you’re on my list now!)

I think I am just becoming a cranky old musician

who hates all things indie. But yes, in the book description of her character, it fits it pretty well.

Please he's expected

to edit any stories written by Meercat and spruce them up so they pop with originality.

Brendan is also an editor (as seen at the bottom of the main page)

So I’ll do what Brendan does, only from a far more crotchety and curmudgeonly perspective.

$1000 a ticket

And not even in the luxury section? Somebody tell me something is wrong here!

by Julio Nievas on Nov 4, 2009 11:28 AM PST up reply actions

But he *will* get invites...

… the to Dodger Stadium press box. That’s got to be worth something.

by berkowit28 on Nov 4, 2009 3:25 PM PST up reply actions

That may be a manager only privilege.

David Letterman gave a pair of WS tickets away to someone in his studio audience yesterday. He did dryly note that they were for Game 7, however.

Congrats Dave

I hear TBLA has a great benefits and pension, and that the company lunches are quite tasty.

Congratulations Dave

TBLA is now leaning old time. Good to know when I talk about Bill Sudakis someone will know who I’m talking about.

Good Luck!

Thanks for welcome

Remember, keep your expectations low and you’re less likely to be disappointed.
My biggest problem is that whenever I get an idea for what might be a good story, before I get a single sentence written, Eric already has a post up about it.

I loved seeing Delwyn in the Dodger box score, though I wasn’t sold on him.
