More fun Padilla news

From Yahoo:

Police spokesman Vilma Reyes said Wednesday that Padilla’s pistol apparently jammed during a target shooting session late Tuesday.

Padilla handed the pistol to a shooting instructor, a former police captain, who didn’t realize there was a bullet in the chamber and shot himself in his hand, Padilla’s legal adviser Roberto Calderon told The Associated Press. The bullet also grazed Padilla’s leg.

Emphasis mine. Is that the worst police captain since Captain McCluskey?

Sounds kind fishy, just like the Jeff Kent truck washing mishap.

Lakers spokesman John Black confirmed prior to L.A.’s Wednesday night contest in Houston that Gasol’s doctors in Spain agreed with the diagnosis of L.A.’s doctors and team athletic trainer Gary Vitti that the injury is healed.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol has been cleared to begin all basketball-related activities after an MRI exam showed he did not have a slight tear in his right hamstring.

Gasol might practice tomorrow and has an outside chance at playing Friday against Memphis.

A less-sophisticated sonogram exam showed that Gasol might have sustained a slight tear, but the MRI exam showed only a strain, a less-severe injury.

Gasol will miss his fifth game tonight against Houston.

Incredible

Don’t know why Charlie didn’t take out Pedro when Matsui was in, Matsui was dialed in against Pedro.

Poor Pete

I guess the Yankees are his daddy.

Pedro was fantastic against the Dodgers

But there were only so many quality pitches left in his good old arm.
It all caught up with him.

Why is Chad Durbin in?

Seriously? You’re down by 3 and you give the ball to the worst pitcher in your roster. Good one Manuel, you’re a moron.

So apparently Carlos Ruiz doesn't just kill the Dodgers

He seems to be doing a pretty good job against the Yankees as well.

Apparently he has something against all big-market clubs.

James Loney

At the Houston Lakers game. Seems to have some weird affection to his home team.

Guess he is just like everyone else and isn’t really paying attention to the WS.

6 RBI for Matsui ties a WS record for most RBI in a game

Bobby Richardson, 1960, Game 3.
Richardson is also the only WS MVP from the losing team, also for that season.

The one positive thing about this game

is that this insanely disappoint season is close to being over. Now I can watch the Lake show repeat and hope that the McCourts go on a spending spree that involves starting pitchers instead of properties in Malibu.

p.s. does it make me a bad fan when I say I’d rather watch the Giants win a WS than the Yankees?

wikipedia

has an entry on the yankees-dodgers rivalry, which in my opinion makes it a pretty legitimate one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankees–Dodgers_rivalry

not to mention – i’m saying this as a baseball fan and a sports fan not just as a dodgers fan. the yankees have to be the least likeable organization in sports.

Are you talking in terms of the powers that be or the players themselves?

Believe it or not, the Yankees were my second-favorite team when I was 12 years old. No one taught me about stuff like payroll back then (plus I hated the Braves and I was fiercely AL over NL). Even today I no longer consider them to be in my top 5, but I still harbor no hatred toward them.

I'm pretty bummed this season is over

It was a great ride for the Dodgers this year, and obviously our off season is seemingly already off to a nightmare start with the McCourt fiasco.

PHAILURE

POST-SEASON TIME!

Time for the Kids to shine next year, because we can’t afford any old dudes that don’t suck!

That will pretty much some up the off season.

Congratulations to the Yankees

And again, thank you for your hospitality. I’ve really enjoyed talking to you guys, and I’d like to drop in from time to time next year.

OK!

But at some point you are going to have to explain your hatred of the Phillies.

Hopefully sometime after we beat the crap out of them :)
