russell

too much power
I know I know ks, but the chance of mark reynolds in the outfield is juicy

Just for reference

Mark Reynolds MidWestLeague Age 21 484 Plate Appearances / 107 Strikeouts
Kyle Russell MidWestLeague Age 23 563 Plate Appearances / 180 Strikeouts

I was a little surprised at how little traction 17 year old Jonathan Garcia got. He’s six years younger then Kyle Russell and put up some solid numbers for not only the youngest player in our organization but just about the youngest player in professional baseball. They both are corner outfielders, good arms, okay speed. Russell surely has the greater power but who thinks the chances of Russell at age 23 in A ball is higher then Garcia age 17 in the Rookie League of having success? Not I.

How close is Russell?

I’d be surprised if Russell makes it before his age 26 year.

Russell

When you have a snow ball’s chance in hell of ever making the majors, and possibly even Triple A, you really aren’t close to the majors at all.
