LA Dodger Talk Scores

with a great interview with Logan White and DeJon Watson. Thanks to Dodger Thoughts for the tip on the interview as Mark Timmons takes advantage of the Winter Meetings being in Indianapolis. I'm beyond jealous of this interview. Quite interesting, according to DeJon the possible AA team would look like this:

1st - Perez, SS - Gordon, 3rd - Baez, LF - Lambo, CF - Robinson, RF - VanSlyke

DeJon expects Gordon to be ready to step in at SS once Rafy's contract is done. Logan White says Gordon is the most exciting athletic player in the organization.

I hadn’t thought about how loaded the AA team is going to be this year.

Anybody want to throw out choices for breakout player of 2010? It had to be Robinson for 09. I’ll go with Pedroza for 2010. Ned can’t trade away all of our switch-hitters, can he?

The Loney / Keith Hernandez comparison was interesting near the end.

This is beyond pathetic

Now Fuller and Jamie are impersonating Dodger management? FU Selig for putting us in the mess.

“Jamie is experienced at organizing baseball teams, like the Dodgers,” Chou said.

Organized baseball team? This guy needs to read the paper more. Don’t they have internet in Taiwan?

It really was a great interview

but I had to chuckle at the end when Mark said he predicted Dee Gordon would break the major league record for doubles. :)

by Eric Stephen on Dec 11, 2009 4:54 PM PST reply actions

67 doubles

interesting that of the six players with 60 or more doubles five of them did in the 1930’s and no one has done it since 1936 when two guys did it.

Rk Player 2B Year Age OPS Pos
1 Earl Webb 67 1931 33 .932 *9
2 Joe Medwick 64 1936 24 .964 *7
3 George Burns 64 1926 33 .889 *3
4 Hank Greenberg 63 1934 23 1.005 *3
5 Paul Waner 62 1932 29 .906 *9/8
6 Charlie Gehringer 60 1936 33 .987 *4

I chuckled even more so at their reaction

It was hard to tell if he was joking or not- he had a little bit of a half-smile during the whole interview. But White & Watson clearly thought he was serious, and reacted as if he’d just said something crazy, but they wanted to be polite and indulge him anyway! :))

Great Interview

Will be interesting to see if Aaron Miller will start in AA in the Spring

Enjoyed this a lot

Thanks for the link!

Chattanooga will be THE team to follow next year in the system. Gordon starting there is a huge surprise.
