Come on you prospect hounds

I’m having a one to one with John, help me out with some ideas.

I've looked it over

but usually I don’t give my input into other people’s lists…I generally just stick to my own rankings. Plus, I don’t want to give away my sleepers just yet

honestly

I’m not crazy about Sickels. I think BA destroys him (or, it used to).

I prefer Sickels rankings to BA

Just my opinion, but I think BA often overvalues draft status and also “toolsy” guys that often don’t pan out. I also think BA has a bit of an east coast bias… or at least bias to certain organizations which are mostly in the eastern half of the country.

like andrew brackman of the yanks..

the guy is probably the worst pitcher ever and he is still ranked number 10 yankee prospect.. cause of his draft position and because ba wants to stick by him..

robert feliciano

dont you guys think he would be a better addition then cole st clair or blake smith??

feliciano was 18 and absolutly dominated the azl and then the organization thought so highly of him, they skipped him through ogden and put him in A ball.. cole st clair is a 23 year old whose ceiling is a loogy.. feliciano is 5 years younger or 4 1/2 and was at the same level..

He listened

Regarding Sickels and BA, it is hard for Sickels to compete with them since he’s just one person but the reason I listen to John is that he uses his own opinions and not those of the teams scouts. BA gets a lot of input from baseball scouts and who knows what their agenda’s are when they tell BA their opinions. Sickels was one of the first prospect analyst to look at the numbers and not just the tools. I’d much rather hear from someone who is not associated with the Dodgers, but is a real scout who understand sabremetrics and has seen all of players on multiple days. That person does not exist so we work with what we have.
