I'm not much into spring training stats, but every once in a while there are a few meaningful nuggets from spring games. Today's heroes:
- Randy Wolf threw two scoreless innings, throwing strikes in 15 of 21 pitches. As long as he's pain free, I feel good
- Russell Martin played in his first game, and started off homer, double, walk. Excellent start.
- Italy's own Val Pascucci smacked a HR in the 9th inning, just a few days before he reports to the World Baseball Classic
- Chin-Lung Hu saw clearly enough to drive a homer to left-center, over what Tony Jackson called "one of the deepest leftfield walls in pro ball (it's 360 down the line, 430 to dead center)"
The Dodgers travel to Peoria to play Seattle Friday at 12:05pm. There is also a "B" game in the morning against the White Sox at Camelback Ranch.
