According to DIamond Leung of the Press-Enterprise, six pre-arbitration Dodgers have signed contracts for 2009 today: Blake DeWitt, Scott Elbert, Victor Garate, Matt Kemp, Lucas May and James McDonald.

No word yet on the amounts, but once I find out I will update the payroll worksheet.

For reference, these contracts are usually split contracts, meaning there is a different salary in the majors and minors -- even for someone like Kemp, who is highly unlikely to be sent down anytime soon. The MLB minimum salary is $400,000, and the minor league minimum salary is $65,000 for players not signing their first major league contract. For players signing their first major league contract -- which I believe includes Victor Garate -- the minor league minimum salary is $32,500.
