Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Answer
1) The Dodgers have played in 18 World Series: 11 against the Yankees (1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1963, 1977, 1978, & 1981), and one each against the Red Sox (1916), Indians (1920), White Sox (1959), Twins (1965), and Orioles (1966). The second-most common Dodger World Series opponent is the Oakland A’s (1974 & 1988). Our player was born in Oakland on June 9, 1893.
2) Eric Anthony won MVP of the HOF game in 1997, by hitting 3 HR and driving in 6 runs in a 16-8 win over the Padres (Billy Ashley also had a good, game, with 4 hits, 4 runs, and 4 RBI). In Anthony’s Dodger career, which consisted of only 1997, Anthony produced 18 hits and 3 doubles in 74 at-bats, the same Dodger totals as our mystery player.
3) The Best of Luck was a movie made in 1920, that featured our mystery player.
