Rockies @ Dodgers Game Thread

MLB Florida and Arizona Spring Training - SB Nation

Rockies (8-10-1) @ Dodgers (10-10), 1:05pm

Both clubs return from an off day Wednesday back into Cactus League action today.  The NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament also starts today, and it was kind enough to schedule around the Dodger game today:

9:25am:  (15) Cal State Northridge vs. (2) Memphis
1:05pm:  Rockies @ Dodgers
4:25pm:  (4) Gonzaga vs. (13) Akron
6:50pm:  (6) UCLA vs. (11) VCU

Birthday boy Clayton Kershaw ("pitch responsibly," says Jon Weisman at Dodger Thoughts) will start for the Dodgers, and be followed on the mound by Guillermo Mota, Cory Wade, and Hong-Chih Kuo, says Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.

CSUN is dominating Memphis so far, 7-2 and at the FT line. :)

Silverwidow's prediction closer to being true

Tony Jackson reports Josh Lindblom has been promoted to big league camp.

TJ points out both Kershaw and DeWitt were similarly promoted in 2008 spring training and both ended up contributing to the 2008 club.

Memphis 34 CSUN 31 at the half

Awesome 1st half showing by CSUN. They may end up losing by 20 points but at least they played with the big boys for a 1/2. The wide eyed kids were star struck when they saw the facilities they would be practicing in. You can watch the game live on ESPN and it includes a boss button.

Lets go CSUN!

I have Memphis in my bracket going to the finals, and I couldn’t care less. It would be so sweet for CSUN to pull something like this off.

Great effort

Tough draw for CSUN. If they were a 14 or 13, those matchups are much more playable, but drawing Memphis was pretty rough.

Nothing to be ashamed of for Northridge.

What an Idiot

I switched around some games last night in our SBN pool and just noticed that I forgot to pick the winner because my changes removed the winner. Hours and hours of research down the toilet. Or at least the hours and hours of research that BP basketball did.

Kershaw is filthy

and then does his first Kershaw Kaboom on his 21st birthday. Against a tough LHP no less.

That

black mesh on the back stop looks terrible over at the Ranch. It was better when it was all netting like at Dodger stadium. I wonder why they ended up putting it in.
