Twitter Dee & Twitter Dum: Royals @ Dodgers Game Thread

MLB Florida and Arizona Spring Training - SB Nation

Royals (14-10-3) @ Dodgers (14-14), 1:05pm

Today we are trying something new at True Blue LA.  Phil and Brendan will be around today to participate in the game thread, but we are going a little more interactive today with the use of Twitter.  I will be at today's game at Camelback Ranch, providing live updates via Twitter.  If you haven't already signed up to follow us on Twitter, now is the time.  Click here to go to the Twitter page for True Blue LA, and be sure to click "Follow."

Back to the lecture at hand, today's game features the Royals -- will writer extraordinnaire Joe Posnanski be in Glendale? -- visiting the Dodgers.

Opening day starter Hiroki Kuroda takes the hill for the Dodgers.

A few Dodger notes:

  • James McDonald, who took the lead in the 5th starter competition, will start again next week, presumably Tuesday
  • Sunday's game will feature an Eric Stults start, and he will be followed by Josh Lindblom
  • Manny Ramirez, after a day off Thursday,  is expected to be in today's lineup against Kansas City
  • Matt Kemp said his new contact lenses have made his eyesight "way, way clearer."  This reminds me of 1998, when I picked Greg Vaughn off the scrap heap in my fantasy draft.  Vaughn, coming off laser eye surgery that offseason, proceeded to see his way to 50 home runs.  And yes, that is the last time I won a fantasy baseball league.

Today's game is streamed online for free on Dodgers.com, and is the first of four games available for viewing (Saturday on WGN, Sunday & Monday online).  Click here to watch.

Don't forget to get your Sweet 16 votes in for the 2009 Dodger prediction bracket.  Voting runs through this afternoon.  Look for voting for the next round to start either late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

re:

Now that is a lineup. Best since 1996?

I think it could be

If bison has a better year(40/40..haha), Ethier has a similar year, Furcal and hudson dont get injured, and manny for a whole season…. That is a lot of ifs, but I am an optimistic person

Greg Vaughn

If Greg Vaughn cops to roiding during that season, does that invalidate your victory and can I have my money back?

Only if your fantasy league had a testing policy in place for fantasy steroids.

I’ve been a little busy, but also a little lazy. I think it was more not being around for a bit, then seeing all the new posts, and not knowing where to start. I’m surprised at how fast this place has grown since October/November.

Threets

Did his job today, has 4 ER, he being HR and has a good K/BB ratio… You think he could be the second lefty out of the pen or is he out of the race?

Lambo left on deck

Repko strikes out as the tying run with Lambo waiting to get his crack. Another day for Lambo but Repko’s time is running out. Eyechart with another hit and the future of D Young is also now in doubt. Scanning rotowire seems like a lot fringe outfielders are out of options this spring.
