What Dodger team had the best start after 100 games since the move to Los Angeles?

If for no other reason than I think that team had the best record of any LA team. Probably too obvious, but I’m sticking to it.

The 1974 team has the LA record for best record after 50 games (36-14) and 81 games (55-26). They did finish with the best record in LA history as well (102-60).

But they didn’t have the best record after 100 games.

1962 is correct

That club was 66-34 after 100 games, best in LA history.

The 1962 club is the only other 100-win LA Dodger team (besides 1974). They finished 102-63 (but were 101-61 before the 3-game playoff loss to the Giants).

I’m going with 1973. I remember Jon (Dodger Thoughts) mentioning that team having a huge lead and collapsing in September, and baseball-reference seems to agree with him, with the Dodgers having a .630 winning percentage on July 21st with a 6.5 game lead, only to lose 9 straight in September and finish 4 games out.

Educated Guess

Last month at the beach, I read “Hunt for Blue October” or something like that. The author, however, managed to turn something exciting into a fairly drab book. I did learn that, according to him, Maury Wills had an affair with Doris Day (I did not know that).
