God

That’s a pretty depressing WAR. :o

I finished my calculations that i’ll post on Monday for the offense and it’s significantly better. I guess the 4 WAR loss of Lowe is killer.

Pretty much

Losing Lowe was a bigger deal than resigning Manny. Given the crap the Dodgers have to take over for Lowe it could be a long year of shuffling 4th and 5th starters.

You know what? Fuck you Sports Gods, fuck you.

re:

He’s got Wolf down for almost two wins. What do you mean?

I'm talking about what blumax said.

“Given the crap the Dodgers have to take over for Lowe it could be a long year of shuffling 4th and 5th starters”.

Isn’t he referring to one of Wolf or Kershaw?

re:

Wolf for sure, but then I expect we are talking about Schmidt/Vargas/Milton/Estes/McDonald/Stults. Plus I don’t expect Lowe to be as good as was in 2008. The FIP for Wolf is actually low, I expect it to be higher and will thrilled be if he hits the Dodgers Sims projection. I like our rotation to win the division but I’m I don’t think we can count on much from Kershaw towards the later part of the season unless they really restrict his innings during the season.

Will Frank have the money to increase payroll when some pitchers like Peavy, Halliday, or Bedard become available? And what price will be pay?

Losing Lowe

I assume that you mean in the sense of not having him in the rotation anymore. Keeping Lowe would have cost the Bums $15+ million annually over four years.

I don't find that

WAR depressing, that should be good enough to get the job done. The real key will be what the rotation looks like come October and I don’t think it will be the one that enters April.
