Happy Birthday, Andre Ethier
Our favorite baseball playing food blogger, Andre Ethier turns 27 today. Ethier's only other time playing on his birthday came in 2007 (he went 0-3). Here's a look at how current Dodger batters have performed on their birthdays:
James Loney (May 7): 1 for 4, double
Manny Ramirez (May 30): 6-43, 3 doubles, 3 runs, 5 RBI, 7 BB, SF
Doug Mientkiewicz (June 19): 8-31, double, 4 runs, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Mark Loretta (August 14): 11-36, 5 runs, 2 RBI, 3 BB, SF
Juan Pierre (August 14): 8-33, 4 runs, RBI, double, triple, BB
Casey Blake (August 23): 7-20, 2 doubles, homer, 2 runs, 4 RBI
Matt Kemp (September 23): 3-9, run, SB, BB
Overall, current Dodgers have only hit .246/.297/.318 on their birthdays.

The guy is......
…a ball player, and definitely a steal for Bradley! I see nothing but upside for him, though he does look like he has a very long, slow swing this year, and thus is vulnerable to the pitch down and away. He has to pick up the tempo of his swing, or pitchers who can spot the ball will make him look bad. BTW, saw a great catch by Nyjer Morgan of the Pirates yesterday. Went up against the left field foul wall, picked the ball out of the air in midflight, and then gracefully bounced off the wall. A superb play! If you can catch that catch on some highlight site, check it out!
