Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda might be scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Diamondbacks, apparently because of a strained left side muscle. Eric Stults was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Albuquerque in case a roster move is needed.
Ken Gurnick gives us the bad news. Hey, if anything, it could mean four straight starts for Dodger draftees!

Tony Jackson seals the deal
Kuroda to the DL, Stults to take his spot.
The way the off days are scheduled, Stults is really only needed on the 11th and the 19th, assuming Kuroda would be available to come off the DL as soon as the 22nd.
They won't go get Pedro
unless he drops his salary demands into the $1-2m plus incentives range.

McDonald/Stults/Wolf
this weekedn and people wonder why some pundits don’t think our pitching can win 90 games.
Patience is for those who die waiting for something to happen
Rotation
FRI – McDonald
SAT – Stults
SUN – Wolf
MON – Billingsley
TUE – OFF DAY
WED – Kershaw
THU – McDonald (was probably going to be skipped before Kuroda’s injury)
Not sure if I have the days right
but if Stults is with the big club for just 15 days, he will earn roughly $35,058 with the big club ($402,000 / 172-day full season * 15 days).
Not sure exactly what he was making in the minors but the minimum is $65,000 for the season. $65,000 / 172 * 15 = $5,669.
So Stults will pocket at least an additional $29,389 for 15 days work. Essentially every day in the big leagues is a $2,000 per day raise for him.
Plus
from what I remember from what Oscar Robles said that if a player even spends on day on the major league roster they get full paid health benefits for the year for the entire family.

Did I mention how well the bullpen was doing? :)

Eric Stephen = LVP ;-)
This really sucks though. It shows how little pitching depth we have. Now it’s going to be kind of tough to win the series.
Actually we do have some potentailly good starters in Troncoso/Elbert/Lindblom, but I guess they aren’t there yet.
