Chris Withrow with a NO NO - Minor League Update, April 12th
Step aside Ethan Martin and Josh Lindblom, the Dodgers 2007 number one pick wants to make sure he's included when people start discussing the best pitching prospect in the Dodger Organization. For almost 24 months we've had to wait to see what all the hoopla was about, and today Chris Withrow made it worth the wait, as Chris tossed five no hit innings in his first action of 2009, hitting 96 on the gun at times with excellent command.
Isotopes:
Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger got pummeled.
Chattanooga Lookouts:
Lambo was moved up to the 3rd spot in the order but his two hits were not enough to offset the poor pitching.
Inland Empire 66ers
As we noted in the opening paragraph the story of the game was Chris Withrow giving up no hits in his five innings. He was not alone as he was followed by Thomas Melgarejo who gave up only one hit in his three innings of work. The offense was shockingly provided by Preston Mattingly who collected two hits and scored three runs. Pedro Baez chipped in with his first home run, a three run shot, while Eduardo Perez notched two triples.

I went to a San Jose Giants game yesterday
Pretty exciting to see Buster Posey, Angel Villalona, Conor Gillaspie, and Nick Noonan. Posey hit a home run, his first of the year. I’ll have to catch the 66’ers when they come to town.

Hey
Its the only minor league team really close by. Its the Dodgers’ fault for not considering me more when they pick their minor league affiliates.
