"Delwyn Young is drawing some trade interest. The Indians, Pirates and Phillies all have had scouts in ABQ this week to watch him. I look for a move to be made there in the next few days, although the Dodgers probably won't get anything eye-popping in return."
Via Tony Jackson. Expect Delwyn to be traded soon. He hasn't been a great hitter in the majors (.267/.331/.394) and his defense keeps him from being very valuable, but he did have a career .303/.363/.515 line in the minors. Hopefully we can get something for him.

What baffles me is how Young made it to the ML with no one recognizing his lack at 2B and defense earlier. Seems like we could have got more for him two three years ago

re:
He made it to the majors as an outfielder. His days at 2nd had ended the previous year in the minors. Every scout from the time he hit the rookie league worried about his defensive shortcomings at 2nd base.

HA!
wouldn’t that be great, and I can stop resenting Casey Blake for that. I’ll resent him for shoddy defense at 3rd and a sorry OBP though.
