Delwyn Young DFA'd to Make Room For Juan Castro
The Dodgers called up infielder Juan Castro to take over the backup SS role from Blake DeWitt. Sending Blake DeWitt to AAAlbuquerque is understandable, so that he can play every day to develop.
However, to make room for Juan Castro on the 40-man roster, the club designated the out-of-options Delwyn Young for assignment. The club has ten days to either trade or release him. In the last few days, the Indians, Phillies and Pirates had shown interest in Young, but it's unlikely the Dodgers will receive anything of value in return if Young is in fact traded.

If Young had any value before
It has to be all but gone now. Why would you give up anything when you know yo can get him for free in 10 days? Oh well, it’s not like he’’d fetch much anyways. I like Delwyn, but he’s not a big loss.
