Manny Walking Closer To Toy Cannon Territory
Manny Ramirez, who has been "getting the Barry Bonds treatment," as one scout told Ken Gurnick, has now been walked in eight straight games, which is the seventh longest streak in LA Dodger history:
12 games - Jimmy Wynn, August 1975
11 games - Dick Allen, August 1971
10 games - Raul Mondesi, April 1999
10 games - Davey Lopes, April 1975
9 games - Jimmy Wynn, May 1975
9 games - Jimmy Wynn, April 1974
Wynn walked 218 times in his 280 games as a Dodger, and has the two highest single-season walk totals in LA Dodger history.

Call-up decision
Don’t you think they had to make a move last night, considering the ’Topes were on their way to Nebraska after the game?
Yeah
I’m surprised it hasn’t been reported yet. Maybe the decision was this morning, and Paul or DeWitt will get to LA relatively late.

Ugh
Saturday’s game on Fox will be broadcast by Dick Stockton and Eric Karros. I don’t like either of those announcers.
I'm watching MLB Network
they are showing the 2008 Silver Sluggers, and there’s a segment comparing David Wright to Mike Schmidt. And my God, Harold Reynolds cannot pronounce “Schmidt.” He keeps saying “Smit,” and he’s said it like 40 times!!!
I actually like Reynolds most of the time, but this is so painful.
I hope we win the first two games against the Rockies
because the last game is a mismatch, Macdonald against Ubaldo Jimenez.
I think McDonald bounces back
First start jitters out of the way, he should pitch a decent game. Jimenez has a big fastball but walks guys, too.
Breaking news: DeWitt recalled
Not what I expected. Oh well.
Loney gets the night off; Kemp in the cleanup spot. Nice!
Loretta starting at 1st?
Re: Dewitt. Not what I expected either. But he is certainly a better lefty to pinch hit than slappy.
