Lindblom?
Whatever happened to Josh Lindblom, the phenom of the spring? I noticed that he was used in relief yesterday (the 12th) and pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up some runs. His ERA right now is over 4.00. I think the kid has got something----but maybe he's lost it or he's hurt. Does anybody know what his status is? Has he fallen out of favor? I certainly hope not. He certainly looked good in the spring. Any insights?

If you read the True Blue minor league updates you will find Lindblom updates in just about every issue.

don't read anything into the relief appearance
The Dodgers, with all their top pitchers, either skip a start or schedule a bullpen outing every 5-6 weeks or so. It’s just to limit their innings.

Also if you type Josh Lindblom into our search engine you will find a plethora of recent information about him. The search engine is located about 1/4 of the way down on the far right side of the page as you go from top to bottom.

And then FNC has plenty of his own Josh Lindblom information mixed in with his prospect reviews.

Thanks!
Yes—-I have made myself aware of all these tools—-and I will use them as often as I can. Does anyone think that Schmidt is over and Lindblom will be brought up this year? I think Jimmy Mac is too unformed, although the raw talent is there.

" I think Jimmy Mac is too unformed"
Yet you would like to see Lindblom called up? That seems inconsistent.

I don’t know, the inability of JimmyMac to handle the starting gig was unformed. Hopefully that is straightened out and he will get another chance.

I think they will give JimmyMac another shot before dipping down for Lindblom. Probably even Milton would get a shot before Lindblom. I’m sure we will see him in Sept but I’m not sure he we will see him before then unless they want him on the playoff roster.

Not a big deal
Lindblom got shelled in one start, basically.
ERA, like OPS, for minor leaguers is completely overrated.

Well, Meercat called it...
Milton was (is) being called up. I’m not saying that Lindblom is ready now—-I just like the way he looks, he’s a big strong kid—-and I think he will be a solid major league pitcher for us when he is ready.

Agreed.
He’ll get his chance this year barring injury.
