Jaime Hoffmann headed for the Dodgers?
According to his dad, Jamie Hoffmann has been called up to the Dodgers. Just two weeks ago Hoffmann was destroying the Southern League and now he's set to join the big boys. So who goes down?

One can hope
I would have guessed Leach just because of his youth, but it’s doubtful Torre would use him in the 8th inning, then comment on his “growth” as a player after the game, then send him down.

No way!
This is a shocking development. Jamie Hoffman – already??? Thanks for breaking this story, Phil. And congrats to your Clips for winning the draft lottery this week ;-)
2009 LA Kings Hockey: thanks to Joe Sakic's snowblower, WE'RE BETTER THAN THE AV'S!!!!

Can’t take credit for breaking it, got the heads up over at Dodger Thoughts by a poster.

Underdog
aka Dashiell at True Blue LA. So many identities!!! He’s rivaling Phil.

Jamie Arnold no longer stands alone as the only Jamie in Dodger history.
No, neither Ramon Jaime Martinez nor Pedro Jaime Martinez count
Some lazy naming by the Martinez parents there
The “other” brother was Jesus Jaime Martinez. The same middle name thrice!
It was probably a family thing, a grandfather or something, but still. Mix it up a bit :)

I'm guessing
X-Man goes down. Torre said not too long ago that they’d “flip him with somebody” if Paul wasn’t getting enough ABs.
Then again, it could very well be the end of the road for a pitcher.
I expect Milton to go. They can always use Weaver in Colorado and Milton would have to go when Kuroda comes back anyway. I would be shocked if Mota gets released this season even though most of you are calling for his head.
Hoffman was really tearing up the Southern League when he got promoted. His wOBA was 2nd in the league at .428, he real weakness is not much power.

He’s on the 40 man so if they need an outfielder he had to be the guy to get the call with Repko out. I just hope this doesn’t mean that Ethier is hurt and has been hiding his injury during this slump. This is a curious callup or simply a false alarm.

I hope its mota
I have to think its a pitcher with interleague play coming up and the need for a DH

It’s probably more that Torre used Wolf as a PH in the 5th inning last game and might want some more options.
As Silverwidow says, we don’t need a DH for 3 weeks.

Just realized
the Dodgers’ M.O. for struggling pitchers they don’t want to release: Phantom DL.
That’s the ticket.
That sound possible, probably the best bet is that someone is going on the DL.

Stults to the DL would be temporarily crushing
but, hey, that’s what 9-game leads are for! :)
I feel the corresponding move needs a poll. I’ll put one up.

For a laugh
I’m copying Eric’s Dodger Payroll info on Mota’s contract incentives:
$75,000 for 30 games finished
$75,000 for 40 GF
$75,000 for 50 GF
$75,000 for 60 GF
(Take the under)
Jon Chapper of the Los Angeles Dodgers started doing humorous minor league updates. As we get them we will post them as Fan Posts in their entirety. Here is the first one.

I expect he works for Josh Rawitch, he has probably been providing these updates to the local media all year, but until now they may not have been seeing the light of day. I just thought that since he put so much work into them, it would be cool to publish them.

Jon Weisman
suggested that maybe Jeff Weavers blister could be the problem. I voted other even though I originally said I expect Milton to get the axe. I’m wishy washy when so little information is know. Where is Dylan Hernandez during this turbulent time?

If it's Weaver
then who becomes the long man? Tron? That’s a waste of his talent.

If I would have remembered Weaver's blister
I would have added that to the list. Oh well.

Lindblom
has come out of the pen the last two appearances. Perhaps the clock is ticking for his eventual promotion.
It looked to me like
the last one was a scheduled long-relief outing since he pitched 5 innings. not sure though.

It's interesting that he didn't start, though
I’m just thinking they want to get him used to coming in during the game.
