Per reader Dave60 at Dodger Thoughts, Charley Steiner reported on the postgame show that reliever Will Ohman was placed on the 15-day disabled list after the game, and catcher A.J. Ellis was recalled from AAA Albuquerque. The club will now have 12 pitchers, one less than they have carried since April 30.

LA Times report is up

It says Ohman has shoulder inflammation.

Torre said Ellis will probably go back down when Kuroda is activated. That shoots down the theory that Milton/Stults’ days are numbered.

3 Catchers

any idea on why they need three catchers? More of a PH type of thing?

Sounds like a PH thing

for a week or so, until whenever Kuroda is ready. Maybe they are buying time for DeWitt to keep playing every day; who knows.

For a few days they didn’t want to jack DeWitt around.

Not on 40 man, besides I’d want Valentino Pascucci before Mr. failed in Japan Jones

Just sayin'

The Odalis Perez Game was also on a Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

He retired the first 18 batters of the game (on only 64 pitches), and only allowed an infield single to Corey Patterson to lead off the 7th. He was immediately erased on a double play, and Perez had the first of his two one-hitters of the year. Odalis faced the minimum 27 batters, and threw only 91 pitches.

Also on a Friday at Wrigley Field, in 1988, the Dodgers won the third game of a five-game sweep of the Cubs. The Dodgers won in the 10th inning when Tracy Woodson drove in Dave Anderson with a single. 22-year old Greg Maddux went nine innings for Chicago, allowing only two runs. Fernando started for the Dodgers. The Dodgers began the series with a 2½-game lead on the Giants, but ended the weekend with a 7-game lead thanks to the Pirates sweeping the Giants.

You should add this data to the Game Thread or comments section. Hard for many of us to remember that once upon a time Odalis Perez could actually pitch.

Zambrano

Came in as a reliever and faced 5 batters without getting an out.

That’s fun
