Lakers win the first two at home, followed by a road loss in Game 3. Where have I seen this before...

Looks like Clayton
is not the only LH phenom to have control problems. Price with six walks in five innings so far.

I had forgotten
that Kevin McHale was guarding Magic one-on-one until he entered the key. I also didn’t notice before that Larry Bird steps in, then backs toward the passing lane to Michael Cooper.
$25,000
The over/under on how much Phil Jackson is fined for his comments to ABC in between the first and second quarters.
vr, Xei
Specifically it was something like “there have been a number of bogus fouls out there so far” or something like that. Very blatant (and very true).

Laker take the lead!
18-5 run to start the second half to overcome a 12-point deficit . And Turkoglu picks up his 4th foul. Has Mo Mentum changed benches?
I may not love the Lakers anymore but I love D Fisher
what clutch shots.
That free throw differential was ridiculous. Good thing the Magic couldn’t shoot the free throws when they needed to do so.

I got a text from my brother right at the end, after the Pietrus bitch foul on Gasol: “first free throws since the 3rd quarter”
One of the great Laker wins of all-time.

Shocked
When you’re up 5 with about 30 seconds to go, you CLOSE that. Free throws definitely decided this one. Overall, I’m disappointed as well, aside from Ariza (and Kobe…), I just despised the overall effort from this Lakers team the entire postseason. Just don’t care to see that rewarded, but alas, it’s looking that way.
This year has been ridiculously chalk with historic or powerhouses like the Steelers, Tar Heels, Gators, all winning, and the Red Wings and Lakers a win away. Hopefully that bodes well for our Dodgers. That’s the solace I’m taking right now.

I was mad during the Houston series, but I think that is overreaching. They still haven’t lost two straight postseason games, and are 7-0 after a loss.

Yeah, to be fair
They’ve gotten a lot better about playing with effort. I was probably overreacting a bit last night, but I think that’s because I expect this team to play better than they have this postseason is all. That they are in position to win without showing their full potential game in and game out just annoys me.
Of course, I’m also still sore for 2000, so I’ll probably never be unbiased when it comes to the Lakers. Last night’s game reminded me way too much of Game 4 of the 2000 Finals. And that hurts me inside.
You should commiserate with Jacob Burch, another Pacer fan here.

Did you block out the 2000-2002 titles?

I think he means
that we both won in 88. We haven’t kept up in the title race.
Games like this are why I don’t have the passion for basketball like I used to. Refs just control a game to much for me and they are the most inconsistent of all the major sports from game to game, quarter to quarter, player to player. When Horry was able to knock out the Suns best player several years ago for a key game by provoking the incident , I just lost a lot of my passion for the game.
It was no surprise to me to find out that a ref had been fixing games.
