| Three Stars of the Day 6/13/09 1. Tim Sexton - RHP - Inland Empire (A+) Sexton continues to be one of the biggest hard luck losers in the organization. Sexton suffered his 8th loss of the year but he gave up just two earned runs in six innings of work. Sexton struck out 8 batters and walked two. The big righty induced seven groundouts against three flyouts in his latest start. Sexton lowered his ERA to 3.15 on the season. Despite that impressive ERA in the hitter friendly Cali league, Sexton's record is 1-8. 2. Josh Bell - 3B - Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) Bell hit his seventh Home Run of the year, a solo shot to help the Lookouts win a close game 3-2 against Montgomery. Bell also single giving him a 2-5 day at the plate. Bell's 33rd RBI leads the Lookouts and his seven Home Runs is tied for the team lead. 3. Kyle Russell - RF - Great Lakes Loons (A-) Russell had an outstanding day at the plate getting two hits and walking twice in his five plate appearances. One of Russell's hits was his 16th Home Run of the year a solo shot which accounted for Russell's 51st RBI. Russell also scored twice to help the Loons win a wild one 11-7, with Jon Michael Redding earning his 8th win. |

I can see Smith or Songco taking Russell’s spot with the Loons once they sign and Russell getting promoted shortly thereafter.
