The Dodgers optioned infielder Blake DeWitt to Triple-A Albuquerque after the game on Sunday and then optioned outfielder Jamie Hoffmann to Albuquerque yesterday. To replace the two on the roster, the club recalled catcher A.J. Ellis yesterday and purchased the contract of power-hitting infielder/outfielder Mitch Jones today. Ellis is making his second appearance with the team this season as he was called up from May 29-31 in Chicago , but did not get into a game. Jones has hit 21 homers in just 192 at-bats at Albuquerque , including five in his last seven contests. Ellis will wear No. 44 and Jones will don No. 17. Jason Schmidt was transferred to the 60-day DL to make room for Jones.
Jones is still looking to make his Major League debut, but it’s not the first time he has played for Joe Torre. Jones was called up to the Yankees on May 19, 2006 and spent two days on the active roster before being sent down.

Amazingly, they are available for every team!
We get an abbreviated version emailed to us, usually before it’s posted. For instance, today’s Dodger notes aren’t uploaded yet.

Seriously…I’ve been lacking in posting links to those every night.
Usually the notes don’t go live until closer to gametime, long after I have written the game thread. I keep forgetting to add a link to the notes for each team (each day has a unique URL depending on the order it gets published so I can’t add it ahead of time) every day.

I didn’t know that site existed until a month ago. It really is great.

Oakland lineup -- no Nomar
Kennedy. 2B
Suzuki. C
Cust. RF
Holliday. LF
Giambi. 1B
Cabrera. SS
Hannahan. 3B
Davis. CF
Braden. LHP
I don't think Nomar can play in the field right now
From what I’ve heard when they start DH-ing again after this week he’ll get more PT.
Expect to see him in a PH spot or two. Hopefully not with the game on the line!
Thankfully he can’t hit a walkoff over the next 3 games! :)

Will be interesting to see if
Mitch Jones can hit offspeed pitches a bit more now or if he is still a fastball only guy. If so, this will probably be a short stay. Will be neat to see him getting his first ML at bat though. Like Nomar he will probably be a PH and DH only.
