Plenty of time until August 15…I doubt the top guys will take too long to sign…some of the high schoolers might be a tough sign though.

Yea

Plus, I anticipate Miller and Smith being fairly easy signs. You don’t see that many juniors getting drafted that high going back for their senior year. They stand to lose too much money.

Brandon Martinez

Anyone know where our 7th rounder Brandon Martinez is slated to go to college next year? Could play a part in his signability.

Martinez

I did a quick search. Haven’t found anything yet but I did find this quote from Martinez

“Right before that, a Dodgers scout called and asked my dad if I’d sign if they took me,” Martinez said. “My dad said yes, and not even a minute later my name shows up on the computer.”

Also

from his dad

“For Brandon it’s not about the money,” Robert said. “He wants to play pro ball and get his career started. He has confidence in his ability to work hard and make the money in the majors.”

Pedro Martinez.

Well the Dodgers screwed up a long time ago when they traded him. Now he’s much older and a lot more expensive. I like Pedro and his Brother Ramon, I say no to Pedro and yes to Washburn if the price is right. The Dodgers have patched up pretty good with Weaver and Milton but do need another Starter that good for 7-8 inning without giving up 3 plus innings a game. I will be glad when Stultz returns and will be happy when DSchmidt says goodbye. Jonathan Sanchez from the Giants will probably be available soon. He’s been hit hard but may be worth a shot, Honeycutt is a great Pitching coach so maybe he can fix this guy.
The big bang will be when Manny returns. Juan Pierre has played great. What are you going to do? Its not fair to sit him on the bench and I would hate to see him traded also, but who do you sit?
Big Bucks Manny
Andre Ethier?
Matt Kemp?
it will be a tough choice.
Good luck Joe with this one.
Juan, keep your head up! your a true all around star!
